I like the setup I like the ease of using but even after washing the fryer parts there is still a kind of nasty taste to food from it don't think I did anything wrong I have used it 2 times now and it's the same outcome may be it will get better with time

I've always wanted to try an air fryer, so when it arrived I pulled it out to give it a try. I was completely shocked with how it fried my dumplings without any oil! It's a nice addition to my kitchen and I am very excited to see what other things I can fry with it.

    • Reputation of "no smell with this one" is INCORRECT
I found this air fryer via a blog about how so many air fryers have the toxic black plastic smell, which is a problem I have had with so many appliances due to a heat-coating used on these types of kitchen plastics. I researched and found confirmation from Uber themselves, plus a review here, that said they pre-vent the plastic at the factory so that it will not smell for the end user. WRONG, apparently. I am disheartened to report that I could smell it as soon as I opened the box. Even the Styrofoam packaging smells. So obviously it was not pre-vented. I will prepare a safe place to attempt to do a test-run without filling my kitchen with VOCs and report back with an update. But as of this moment, I feel like completely giving up on finding an air fryer that doesn't reek. UPDATE: I tested the air fryer and in under ten minutes the house smelled of toxic fumes. This is my first air fryer. Its not simple to use if you dont read the instructions first. But once you do, it's easy to get the hang of. Fries the food great as well.

I love that you use no oil at all. I did not like the directions well lack thereof. I was new to air frying so when you are not using the quick start buttons there is no help.
