  • Small package, great performance.
Mounted this little wizard on an AR 7.5" pistol build on a UTG Super Slim carbine length handguard. I mounted it at the very front top of the pic rail and mounted my front BUIS just behind it. I can activate it with either my thumb or my forefinger from either side. This laser is so small and is very well made, holds zero impeccably, The laser is not the strongest, hard to see in daytime, but is very good in low light or at night. Perfect for my PDW. I would definitely recommend it for a pistol or a rifle. Great price and friends were amazed at the small size, easy set-up, and ergonomic buttons. ... show more

  • Perfect for routine carry on compact or sub-compact
Read many reviews on this cool little piece of kit and agree with all positives and have issues with most negatives - first, if you are going to war or are law enforcement, then get something else - but if you are looking for something ultra small for a routine carry weapon, then this is your product - fits perfectly on my CZ P10 S as pictured - activation switch is perfectly located and easy to operate - weighs nothing - easy to zero at any distance past 10 feet - some have complained about not enough upward zero adjustment - if you are having this problem your zeroing target distance is too close - if you need a functioning laser to hit a target inside 25 feet , then you shouldn’t own a weapon - it is bright enough inside 50 feet in daylight conditions, easily 100 feet at night - again if your anticipated targets are outside that range then you need to outfit with something bigger and more powerful Just don’t know about battery life yet - but you should be mostly training on iron sights and not the laser - zero the laser, finish your training time with laser on and then going back and forth between laser on and off to get the feel for the difference (because you should never completely depend on a piece of electronics to put a round on target) - this will save your laser battery life for engaging real targets ... show more

  • I rarely give 5 stars. i bought this more ...
I rarely give 5 stars. i bought this more for show than function, and you should keep that in mind when purchasing. Only practice and repetition will improve your marksmanship. I found that the elevation adjustments are very delicate. Read the adjustment instructions carefully. I believe the intended use is for short-range hand gun, so zero it in for the appropriate distance 3-7 yards. This is bright, and works well once you get it adjusted. --elevation adjustments are finicky. --battery replacement is difficult . --a little pricy ++really compact and practically weightless. If someone rated it poorly it's because they are trying to use it outside of it's design. my first one from amazon had an issue with the elevation adjustment; amazon exchanged it promptly and at no additional cost. ... show more

  • Fits Springfield XD Mod.2 Perfectly!
This laser is much smaller than I originally thought which is good because it fits my Springfield XD Mod.2 9mm perfectly. I have yet to test it at the range but I'm hoping that it will work just fine. I read many of the other reviews for this laser and so far I have not had the problems that others have had with it. I will re evaluate once it is range tested. Stay tuned ***update*** After taking it to the range and zeroing the laser to my round impact group I have found this laser to be perfect for my gun and it works well with my Remora holster. I have been carrying it concealed and the laser adds very little weight to the gun. The only downside to this laser is that it gets dirty easier with the shorter barrel guns (3-3.5" barrels). But, if you clean your gun regularly it is not an issue. I would definitely recommend this laser to anyone with a new XD Mod.2 as it fits perfect and is lightweight! The laser is also extremely bright! ... show more

  • If Truglo engineering invests the time, the next version of this laser sight could be a solid winner
Pros: 1. Compact, low-profile design 2. Green laser is reasonably bright with fresh silver-oxide batteries (see below) 3. Dual finger switches are located well and are protected from accidental bumping 4. Laser shuts off automatically after ~5 minutes to conserve battery power 5, Hold down either switch for about 3 seconds to switch the laser between constant mode and blinking "pulse" mode (the laser sight "remembers" the most recent setting until it is manually changed again). 6. A relative bargain for a compact green laser sight Cons: 1. It is clamped onto the gun rail with a single small bolt that screws into a threaded piece of aluminum, an inherently weak design ("max torque 4.4 in-lbs") Truglo suggests adding a drop of thread locker, that doesn't help if you've already stripped the aluminum threads 2. The clamping bolt fits into one of the notches of a 1913 Picatinny rail, limiting where the sight can be positioned. It would improve the design to provide additional bolt holes so the laser sight can be positioned optimally relative to the gun's trigger guard. 3. Battery packs for the green laser sights are 6 button cells shrink-wrapped together, Truglo ships along an extra battery pack, but they all use cheap LR626 alkaline cells, at this price and for this critical application Truglo should be exclusively using mercury-oxide button cells that last much longer and hold their voltage better, shame shame on them for cheaping out (the manual calls for LR626 "lithium" batteries which is WRONG, they are cheap alkaline) 4. Both the red and the green Truglo laser sights are rated at <1mw power output (5mw is the legal limit). They seemed sharp and bright to me but I don't plan to use them outdoors in daylight. It wouldn't surprise me if most of the brightness issues could be cleared up by the use of silver-oxide battery packs. 5. The windage/aiming adjustments are spongy and touchy and have hysterisis, unacceptable for this application and at this price point. Using a good-quality red bore laser to perform alignments, I found both green laser sights were very touchy and appeared to move around significantly after being set. The user manual is not reassuring, to quote: "Insufficient adjustment is not a defect with the laser sight." "Do not over-adjust the W/E adjustment screws. Stop turning if you feel any resistance." "To reset the W/E settings, remove both adjustment screws. After approximately 10-20 minutes the laser should point high and to the left of target." I ordered 2 identical green laser sights, and 3 out of 4 battery packs were dead or nearly dead on arrival. Truglo was responsive and immediately sent me fresh battery packs. Researching button cells is frustrating, too many ID schemes and numbers, lots of misinformation and invalid claimed equivalencies out there. In this application, you want top-quality SR626 1.55V mercury oxide button cells, try to avoid SR626SW and other "W" cells which are designed for low-current applications like wristwatches ("W"). If you're wondering, lithium cells won't work in this application. You'll have to tediously tape together a stack of 6 cells (you can't just drop them into the battery chamber one by one, they flip over, and the sides of the first 5 batteries MUST be insulated or some of the cells are likely to be shorted out). Laser Ammo (SureStrike Laser Bullets) does the same thing with their battery packs (3 cheaper alkaline button cells vs silver oxide). If Truglo engineering invests the time, the next version of this laser sight could be a solid winner. They also need to switch to exclusively using silver-oxide button cells (in place of alkaline cells) and selling 6-cell silver oxide battery packs online. Better yet, come up with a Lithium Ion battery pack. ... show more
