It’s mostly plastic and the latch snapped after minimal use in less than 2 months. Don’t waste your time with this. Other than being completely useless it installed easy and worked well but the latch obviously needs to be redesigned.

However; for people in late fifties it’s not as easy to open. Perhaps a quick snap on and off , will help, I am in construction , very handy man. And trust me this needs to be addressed specially if in a hurry , and worse yet if it’s raining.🤔🤔
