Frequently asked questions

A curved manual treadmill, such as the Tru Grit Fitness Grit Runner, is a treadmill without a motor that is powered by the user's own movement. Its curved surface helps to promote a more natural running gait and engage more muscles compared to a flat treadmill. This design encourages a better posture, more caloric burn, and lower impact on joints thanks to the user-controlled pace.

The Tru Grit Fitness Grit Runner helps increase workout intensity because the user powers the belt with their own footsteps. The steeper the curve, the more force is required to drive the belt forward. This results in higher engagement of the lower body muscles and a more intense cardio workout. Users can easily adjust their pace and intensity by simply walking or running faster or slower, which makes it highly responsive to effort.

Yes, the Grit Runner is ideal for high intensity interval training. As a manual treadmill, it responds instantly to changes in the user's speed, making it perfect for the quick bursts of effort required in HIIT workouts. Additionally, because there is no need to adjust dials or buttons to change speed, transitioning between high and low intensity is seamless, which is crucial for effective interval training.

The Tru Grit Fitness Grit Runner is designed to accommodate a wide range of fitness levels. Beginners can walk at a comfortable pace to get used to the curve and manual mechanism, while more experienced athletes can take advantage of the treadmill's design for sprinting or performing dynamic, high-intensity workouts. Its manual nature means that it scales with the user's own effort and pace, making it versatile for different training needs.

🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

Reviews for the curved treadmill highlight a mix of experiences. Many customers appreciate its sturdy construction and the additional workout intensity provided by the 6 levels of resistance. However, issues with misaligned manufacturing, low-quality materials, and a lack of responsive customer service have been noted. Aesthetically, the treadmill seems to fall short in terms of its basic monitor features and inconvenient water bottle holder placement.

Pros

  • 🏋️ Heavy and robust construction, suitable for users up to 205lbs.
  • 🎶 Accommodates loud music, implying good sound insulation.
  • 🔧 Offers 6 levels of resistance for varied workout intensities.
  • 🚶 Easy to move and quieter compared to motorized treadmills.
  • 💸 Considered great value compared to more expensive machines.

Cons

  • 🔩 Issues with holes not aligning and missing bolts during assembly.
  • ⚙️ Missing guide roller, leading to a clacking noise when in use.
  • 📊 Basic monitor with limited functionality and no Bluetooth capability.
  • 💦 Inconvenient water bottle holder placement that may interrupt workouts.
  • 🏗 Some customers reported poor quality materials leading to easy breakage.

Should I Buy It?

If you are seeking an affordable alternative to motorized treadmills and can handle potentially difficult assembly and lackluster customer service, this curved treadmill could be a good fit, especially if the sturdiness and adjustable resistance levels appeal to you. However, if quality and reliability are top priorities, you might want to consider other options.

Get ready for heavy lifting to have this treadmill installed in your home. 500Lb box! So if you are 139Lb like me, get some help. Well wrapped, on 2 attached pallets, delivered by heavy hauler. Treadmill Noise? That stereo is blasting, can't tell. I like it. I am sweating way more than the old electric treadmill I had. ... show more

I've been wanting one for a long time and have been including this in my workouts. The good: it's built sturdy. I'm 205lbs, and haven't noticed any breakdowns in the manufacturing of this curved treadmill. I love the 6 levels of resistance. My lower body feels it during and after walking or running. It is easy to move, as well and quiet, compared to motorized treadmills. The bad: the monitor leaves a lot to be desired. You can set time, distance and calories for workouts. But, distance is only in 100ths of a mile. It be much nicer to be able to switch to meters. Bluetooth capability would be nice, as well. I know this is the least expensive runner on the market, and you get what you pay for. But, I find the monitor highly lacking. Lastly, and most annoying, water bottle holder placement. It's very low. On a Runner like this, you have to lean forward to grab your water bottle, which will make any video of you viral on Gym Fails. I'm quite sure there is a reason for placing it where it is, but I feel someone is going to faceplant when trying to hydrate. Overall, I'm very happy with it. I'm not someone who likes to run. Frankly, I hate it and have the utmost respect for distance runners. This air runner is very good. ... show more

If you are looking to buy a curved treadmill look elsewhere. Once we put it together and tried it out the belt made an awful metal grinding noise, and an odd hard plastic cracking sound once you came to a stop and start. Customer service is non existent, no matter how you try to contact them. If you take anything away from reading these reviews please know that your buying a piece of junk, I want to warn you now that you are making a huge mistake. DO NOT BUY!!! ... show more

  • Poorly Manufactured
Team Name: Runner Curve
None of the holes lined up making it impossible to screw in some of the bolts. Also came out of the box missing a guide roller for the running tread. This causes it to make a clacking sound when you run on it. I've contact the manufacture, but they have not replied. This style of treadmill is great, but I would not buy this one again. Quick update. Still have not heard back from manufacture about warranty. Now the treadmill is making loud scraping sounds. This thing is a piece of junk. Do not buy one of these. ... show more

I’m not saying it’s perfect construction. There are some rattles. But it is 100% functional. And does exactly what it says. It’s hard to imagine the $3-10k+ machines doing anything more.
