The Tru-Flate 16-250 120V Inflator is an electrically-powered air compressor designed for inflating tires, sports equipment, and other inflatable items. I purchased 1 of these & liked it so much I ordered a 2nd one for my son. After just a few uses while pumping air his unit shut off and will not come ba k on. As it’s been 9 months I think I’m out of luck with returning it.

This looked like it would be an ideal product for what I needed, a family friendly way for everyone to keep their bike tires inflated. I bought it in November and it worked fine. I tried to inflate my tires for a winter ride in December and the unit would not turn on. I called the customer support number in the manual and they asked where I purchased it. They said that they don't warranty products sold by Amazon. When I pressed that the warranty was a manufacture warranty and I was calling the number listed by the manufacturer i was transferred to "management" and got a voice mail. TLDR: works well, relatively quiet, but need to buy a better chuck right off the bat, and set pressure higher by about 2psi to really get your target inflation. This style inflator is exactly what I was looking for: wall mount with recoil hose and digital gauge and auto shut off. I even like the colors. In general it appears to work well, however, as others have mentioned the included chuck is garbage. Mine literally broke the second use and would leak air significantly. Glad I read the reviews, because I had ordered a higher quality chuck as part of my order as part of the “frequently purchased together” suggestions from Amazon. Installed new chuck and works great. Also as others have noted, the gauge is off by about 2 psi. So for me, if I want 42 psi for my tires, I preset it to 44psi on the gauge and that will get me to the correct target pressure. The inflator is also much quieter than other air compressors I’ve used including a portable inflator I have. Overall pleased with purchase but I think they could make this a better product with better parts and more accurate psi readings ... show more

So far so good. The hose reaches almost all the way across a 2 car garage. Its actually cheaper to just go to the gas station a couple times a year..unless this thing lasts like 20 years which I doubt. But with a motorcycle and 2 cars, the convenience factor will be big. Like others have said and shown, you will need to locate 2 studs and screw mounting boards to the studs, then mount the compressor to the mounting boards. Yes it vibrates. Yes its kinda loud. But not unexpectedly so for a compressor. When its plugged in the digital display will be on so I keep it unplugged when not in use. The chuck is cheap, but I read that in other reviews so I got a better one. The pics show the quality difference. The one on the left is from this compressor. I update my reviews every month or 2 with any necessary info so if I have any problems Ill say so. Please hit that button if my review was helpful! ... show more

I thought this would be a good product just using in the garage for checking air pressure for all my vehicles. The cord is so tightly wound. It is impossible to stretch out. The clasp that goes onto the tire valve never stays on. You have to hold it on. The pressure gauge on the unit itself is off by 3°. So if you’re shooting for 36 you have to do 39. I would not recommend. Spend a little more money and get a better product. ... show more

    • Exactly what I was looking for
I was looking for a quiet, compact, wall mount, inflator for kids toys/bikes ect. This fits all of those needs. kids bike tires are always flat, but with a push of a button I can fill them up quickly. Previously I had to pull out my large air compressor and charge it with air before using. This is much simpler. There are some bad things to be aware of: 1. the hose is cheap and I replaced mine first thing. 2. the screen always stays on. I hope it lasts! 3. Setting the pressure could be a bit simpler and a dial would be ideal over the push buttons. overall, I really like it though. ... show more

    • Poor customer service form JBTools
I had multiple issues with this order. The air pump failed after a couple of uses. I don't know if this was just a defective product or if it was incapable of inflating a truck tire to 70 psi even though its rated to 110 psi. I like the concept of having a wall mounted inflator but a 25 ft hose was too short to reach around the vehicle. Also the pressure limit selector was a little clumsy until I realized the that pump had to pump a couple of pounds (on the display) above the set pressure to reach the actual set pressure. What really upset me was the lack of warranty. While I purchased the product from Amazon it was actually shipped from JBTools. It turns out the JBTools doesn't honor the 1 year warranty from Plews & Edelmann and only provides 30 day return on this item. I purchased the product in July and tried to return it in October. When I checked with Plews they indicated that they could only honor warranty claims through their distributors. JBTools denied any responsibility and said to check with the manufacturer. Fortunately Amazon stepped up and released my form this Catch 22 situation and issued a refund. My advise is to avoid any transaction involving JBTools as they aren't operating as a responsible distributor. In fact, Plews & Edelmann doesn't list JBTools on their distributor list so its anyone's guess as to how they are involved in the transaction. If you have to buy a item from JBTools I would recommend purchasing an Amazon warranty. ... show more

    • Nice compact and simple design
I really like this unit. The 25 ft hose is actually just what I needed in the garage (most other competitors in this price range only have 20ft - the extra fit made a big difference for me). The unit is easy to operate , quiet and compact. I figured out it delivers about 2 psi less than what I program it for. So so I just program it to add a couple more psi than I need and it is fine otherwise it would have gotten 5 stars. ... show more
