Description

Our 20V MAX Corded/Cordless Air Inflator can run on any one of three power sources for maximum versatility: 20V MAX battery, 12V DC, or 110V AC. Use it on the jobsite, or on the go. It features a high-pressure rubber hose for durability. The threaded chuck and included onboard accessories make it easy to inflate items from tires to footballs. Setting desired air pressure is simple with the digital gauge, and the auto-shutoff provides accurate inflation. The high-volume hose allows fast inflation of mattresses and other inflatables with the push of a button. Move the hose to the deflation port for quick and easy take down. An onboard LED light helps to provide illumination in dark spaces. Heavy-duty rubber feet help reduce walking while in use. Battery, charger, and AC power adapter sold separately.

A recent slow leak prompted this purchase and I'm so happy I pulled the trigger. Being a DeWalt Dad meant I already had the batteries and am happy with the quality of their products. I was considering buying the AC adaptor, but unless you're inflating a lot of tires at one location, don't bother. I haven't run the battery flat yet, so can't comment on the life, but the unit inflated my 17" tires by 5psi in around 20 seconds. Super easy to use and the brass fitting is threaded so no need to push and hold in place like those horrible gas stations hoses. Turn it on, attach hose, set PSI, push play button. Auto shuts off when inflated. It even gives you a half PSI over to account for unscrewing the fitting. Genius! I can't believe I didn't buy one sooner. The is a compact, well-made portable inflator. Quickly inflates car tires that are several pounds low, and I like that I can use my rechargeable batteries used in my other DEWALT tools. The tire compressor function is strong and solid with enough capacity to inflate car tires with ease. I especially like the pre-set function that allows for me to "dial in" (literally) a tire pressure target that is spot on when checking with my Michelin MN-12279 Digital Programmable Tire Gauge. Love my air pump. Works great on my car and bike tires. Small and light and easy to get it close to where I need it. Easy to set desired psi and stops as indicated. I did also get an extension with a quick release fill valve attachment that’s easier than the screw on attachment provided. I have and love a number of Dewalt tools that all use the same battery. Pros: The unit is light and easy to use. I prefer the screw on valve connection to the quick release style. While harder to engage than a quick-release, it's more secure and the air lost during disconnection is predictable and minor. It can also be used to let air out in a controlled way if you overshoot. The unit is well built overall. The noise level is fair, about what I expected for this style of pump. The pressure accuracy is very good, and the auto-shutoff works perfectly. Cons: "Our 20V MAX* Corded/Cordless Air Inflator can run on any one of three power sources for maximum versatility: 20V MAX* battery, 12V DC, or 110V AC." Not! I purchased this unit with the idea of using it for my car (12 VDC) and around the yard, for filling the tires of wheelbarrows, etc. I expected to be able to plug it into 120V AC as the Amazon description implied, but soon found out that its has no 120V input. I can't fault DeWalt - their literature does say (with a buried double **) that you need an AC adaptor, sold separately. For Amazon to say that it runs on 120V is exactly like saying my iPhone runs on 120V - all you need to do is buy an AC adapter (sold separately). If this is important to you, consider other pumps that clearly do run on 120V. I dinged it two Ease of Use stars for false advertising. The only design shortcoming I noticed is that the 13 foot 12V power cord could be about 4 feet longer, to stretch around the car so that it can reach all four tires without having to transfer the power cord from one side of the car to the other. The pressure set point is not preserved when the unit powers down, so it needs to be continually reset. ... show more
