  • Perfect air compressor for creative women, elderly and disabled folks!
Color: Multi
Thoughts on Compact and Light Tools for all: Tradespeople, retirees, women and the disabled. Written as a review for my compact Air Compressor. Bought on holiday sale for an irresistible price by a senior woman diy-er with disabilities comprising progressively less mobility and physical strength. I needed an air compressor for my stapler, brads and trim nailers. I can’t possibly lift corded pancake compressors anymore. But I don’t want to give up DIY doing. Numerous Reviews and Dewalt the company say this is the tool for folks like me. Why even pros rave about this machine! Its not for air tools such as framing nailers and paint spraying. But it’s perfect for less power hungry, rapid firing tools and applications. Honestly I haven’t had an opportunity to use my new golden gal yet. Nevertheless, extensive research over many months makes it clear, this is THE product answer for me! It remains to be seen whether my unit came to me in jail and hearty form. Observations: Cordless tools in becoming lighter, more compact and suitable for women, the elderly and the disabled was a long long time coming! They are a God send for these unique long overlooked groups. My late contractor husband could have kept happily fixing and creating longer as he aged and his cancer worsened if today’s compact cordless tools were available 20 years ago. Even when I was pretty mobile and active I couldn’t handle (for long) those enormously heavy cordless)!to me) tools my husband owned. Finally a family friend suggested I use an impact driver for most of my drilling tasks because they have power but are compact. My first Makita Impact Driver changed the way I thought about cordless tools. As I’ve became weaker I’ve also become a huge fan of vise-grip pliers in all sizes and jaw shapes. Its taken decades to see the compact and light movement grow to where we now commonly see a variety of tools besides drills in compact sizes and weights suitable for women, elderly and disabled folks. Progress is good! But more faster progress is wareanred because the market is increasing as women’s roles and interests expand, as the population ages and as individual disease categories explode. Tool Manufacturers long aimed marketing and products at building, automotive and farming trades. (Seems like Black and Decker were first to finally cater to DIYers.) It’s as though manufacturers believed that tool buyers, mostly men, preferred being worn-out and in pain at the end of a workday. SOOOO UNTRUE and frankly a little dumb. The time has come to make power tools accessibly light, compact, good feeling in the hand yet super effective. It’s time that both sexes, all ages and most abilities can easilly find tools of a manageable weight band size that just plain work Enabling all buyers men, women, elderly and disabled to construct and create until their end days would hugely increase productivity and joy in this tired world and push manufacturers revenues sky high. The only way I can remain creative or useful and keep living independently is to find adaptive devices and tools I can handle. There are millions of men and women like me. We are hungry for accessible power tools so we may happily create and remain busily home-handy. Add us to the millions of trades people hunkering for less pain at day’s end by virtue of lighter low bulk yet amazingly effective tools. What results is a huge human tool market hungry for satisfaction along with large profit increases for manufacturers. Compact and light with no less effectiveness is a tool movement everyone should get behind and push! It’s a movement where everyone wins. Oh If only one tool manufacturer brainiac with imagination would read this and give it serious thought. ... show more

  • Love this thing!
Color: Multi
This compressor is amazing. Runs an oddly long time on the included 6Ah battery. Great for filling tires or on the job site. Weighs less than you'd think. Such a great idea, my favorite compressor so far! It's not perfect, for this price it should have come with a hose. Add on a short DeWalt spiral spring hose, they're great and well made. It also should have had a little storage bin to hold bits (air fill connector, etc) as well as a hose storage option. Two minor complaints on an otherwise excellent compressor. ... show more

  • A truly mobile air compressor.
Color: Multi
+works with dewalt 60v batteries +airs up car tires quick +quieter than a gas compressor but noisy + light enough to carry with one hand +cordless means you can use anywhere -no accessory kit -no smart air-up -no car jump-start Compared to your typical air compressor, this little dewalt is much better as an emergency tire fill up. It runs without any cord, it is small enough to just throw in the trunk, and is light enough to carry around. Its little tank and slow recharge probably means it wouldn't be good for running a more demanding air tool than a finish nail gun, but I have not tried that. It comes with no accessories at all, not even a hose. Compared to your typical dedicated tire air up, the dewalt is bulky and low on features. It has no smart fill up that stops on its own when your desired pressure is reached. Some tire fillers also have jumper cables but this does not. It airs tires quick, and you can air up a handful of car tires on a single charge. The psi goes high enough to do the big truck tires on my work dually, but that takes longer. Overall, this feels and performs like a quality tool. ... show more

  • Good Compressor But With Cheap Valve
Color: Multi
I bought this compressor to pump up bicycle tires. The nice thing about it is that it's battery powered, so I can take it in the car when we go out on trails, and it fills up to the correct pressure and empties out again much faster than my 20 gallon compressor. The one bad thing is the safety valve. It's cheaply made and the rubber ring inside it eventually comes loose allowing air to leak from the valve. For reference the part is a DeVilbiss TIA-4150 Safety Valve which you can buy on Amazon for about $12 each. Good thing it's a cheap part, I've had to replace it twice. Then again, the fact that it's so cheap is probably a large part of the reason I've had to keep replacing it. Apart from the cheap valve issue though, the compressor checks all the other boxes - small, lightweight, portable, get's the job done on bicycle tires. I even once used it in a pinch to top up a car tire. So overall, it still rates four stars, only the valve issue stops it from getting five. ... show more

  • Great portable option for light weight jobs.
Color: Multi
This isn’t a replacement for my full size compressor. But it’s great for smaller jobs. We live off-grid. When I want to use my big compressor I need to fire up the generator. It’s an ordeal. This little guy works great and will replace the need to pull out the big boy most of the time. It’s still relatively new, so durability and longevity of the tool have no track record. Yesterday I put soffit and facia up. The soffit needed a few hundred feet of nailers and I ran my framing nailer on light duty all day with one battery. Running the framing nailer took a lot of air; the compressor works hard to keep up. But just yesterday, I would have spent $30 in gas running my generator for the big compressor. I would definitely recommend. In fact, I wish I hadn’t read the negative reviews. The cost of gas alone would have paid for this tool several times over just over the last year. ... show more
