  • Troy built cultivator
I’ve read many bad reviews about this cultivator and I disagree with all of them. We have a homestead and we need a small cultivator. Most were expensive, IMO over priced. I liked the price of the TroyBuilt and have had experience with TroyBuilt in the past and had great luck. It arrived fast from Amazon and the cultivator was packaged well. Took me literally 3 mins to assemble the machine. I put 40-1 gas mixture in the tank and it started right up. I have used it a few times and it works great. ... show more

Pull cord breaks after 2nd use. Hard to crank, won't stay running

  • Defective by design, Troy-Bilt won't honor the warranty
Complete piece of junk, do not buy. This isn't a tiller made by Troy-Bilt, it's actually some cut-rate company which Troy-Bilt licenses the design from and then slaps their logo on. They sell this exact same model under many different brand names in other global markets. I bought mine from the local big box hardware store, used it 3 times, and it died due to cylinder scoring causing it to lose compression. The authorized repair shop said this is likely due to poor metallurgy of the cylinder housing and not anything we did wrong. Troy-Bilt would not authorize a warranty repair or replacement, and fixing it would cost more than it was valued. IT WAS ONLY USED THREE TIMES. Read the other reviews of this product elsewhere and you'll see the same. After this experience I will never buy a Troy-Bilt product again. ... show more

  • Problematic From The Start (Or NONStart)
Bought mine from a local big box store. It was hard to start from the beginning. It's been getting worse every time I've used it. Now it won't start at all. Yesterday I pulled until I pulled a muscle and it still hasn't started. I don't know if it's worth the money to have someone get it running. Edit: I spent the money for a fuel filter - no luck. I figured it was worth the gamble, so I spent $14 on a new carb, $6 on a spark plug, and a couple dollars on an air filter. The result was another pulled muscle in my back. That earned this tiller a trip to the dump. ... show more

  • Won't honor warranty
This tiller died after just a few uses and won't start again. I contacted the local dealer, and they said they don't do warranty repairs for Troy Bilt anymore because Troy Bilt doesn't pay them. This is last time I will ever buy anything made by Troy Bilt!
