It's a weight in the shape of a hammer...it doesn't get any simpler. It feels good in the hand. I don't feel like it's going to break. In the grand scope of everything, the user does the work.

Overall five stars because for what it is, it's great. The other notes I tried to rate fairly and honestly. Weight distribution: it's not even but that is by design and to be expected, and although the 25lb hammer weights exactly 25lb on my scale it feels much heavier than a standard 20lb dumbbell which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on your use and strength level. Versatility: Good but not great. It can be used for some of the same things as a dumbbell or kettle bell, but not all, while at the same time it can be used in place of either to make certain other exercises easier or more productive because of the design. It's not a be all end all piece of equipment but it has good uses. Value for money: Definitely not great. If you go solely on price per pound it's 1 star max, but 3 stars since it's a very unique product designed for very specific uses and users. If you're just starting out or have a limited budget you'd be better served by a range of weights for the same money, but if you have everything else and want something different, it could be worth it. ... show more

I thought it may be too light. I’m 5’11” 215 lbs. It’s awesome. It’s off balance which helps for a lighter weight. I use it to pick up and lift over my head and then switch hands and do the same. I was bit worried of it coming damaged but was perfectly secured. I did ask for the hammer box to be put an Amazon box which protected it more. Perfect. Solid. Heavy. No issues. Great deal.
