The set comes with 3 cutting boards and 2 garlic crushers. The ones I bought are black. They appear to be slightly see through. I would say they are pretty sturdy and a standard thick size. They have the rubber gripping to keep it from slipping. It does have the functional groove around it to keep juices from spilling over. They are simple to clean as well. No special work is required. My husband has a bad habit of using my nice wooden cutting board for meat and then not washing it immediately, which drives me insane. I was so grossed out, I threw the cutting board right in the trash one day. He can use plastic from now on. At least this way, germs aren't seeping in to the porous wood. At least this way, I can soak them (in vinegar, soap, whatever. Can't soak wood boards) I can pop it in the dishwasher on hot and let it run the sanitize cycle.(can't put wood ones in the dishwasher) Yes, the knives are cutting into the boards like other reviews say. The surface is getting rough from it. We are probably getting microplastics in our food but that is another problem for another day. They are serving their purpose. I'm alot less frustrated with my dear, darling husband. This, I can deal with. Great purchase. I'll buy a replacement set when the ones we have aren't nice anymore. ... show more

I really like the color , it's a charcoal dark gray with white speckles with black reamed edges , smaller one is slightly darker than the other 2 All 3 are nice have quality look and feel , so far no knife marks , washes off easily by hand , seems very durable, and doesn't hold odors I haven't had a problem with any of the boards moving around while cutting, they do have tiny rubber feet on each corner but truly need to be 1/8 inch longer to be effective Very happy with purchase ... show more
