Easy installation, the fittings went together right and the vacuum of system was passed on both systems that I purchased. Keeping room cool even set to 80, cools a room in minutes, can't even hear the blower on the inside, unless you turn on the turbo option, outside unit fan is quite and hardly any vibration, so mounting on the wall or ground is open to preference and location. If you DIY this , you will need a vacuum pump and a set of gages, some sets come with the adapter for the mini split port. Just FYI I got a vacuum pump with gages and it came with 3 adapters , the one that was correct was the one that screwed on all the way to the base. The other 2 screwed on but only half way , not depressing the valve causing vacuum read issues. Another tip , absolutely get the drain angle correct or you will have water 💧 issues. Depending on your location. One more , pull back the fitting nut and expose the flange, line that flange to the surface of the other fitting, then bring the nut down and titan.     • A very nice, very quiet unit.
I received my TOSOT 12,000 BTU mini-split system within a week of placing my order. It arrived in two separate boxes and I was a little concerned at the significant damage to the cardboard box for the outdoor unit. After unpacking and examining, I determined that I would go ahead with the install since I was anxious to complete the project in-spite of some minor unit damage which seemed to me cosmetic in nature. I was a DIY installer including adding a 220 volt/15 amp circuit my electrical service panel per the specifications from TOSOT and local electrical codes. All went well and I estimate it took me the better part of one day to complete the install working slowly and deliberately. Probably much of my time was spect deciding exactly where I wanted to place both the indoor and outdoor units and running electrical conduit, etc.. I opted to buy a wall mount stand which I think is a good option. After I powered the unit up, all seemed well but after several minuted the indoor unit LED display showed and error code that was not listed in the install/operating manual. I contacted TOSOT customer support via the telephone number provided and they answered my call. After a brief explanation of my problem, the TOSOT representative referred my case to technical support which is done via e-mail. The representative I communicated with is based in Hong Kong so naturally the time zone difference between there and the USA factors in to some delay in response but Mr. Mason was very good working with me to troubleshoot what was causing the error code. After a few exchanges that did not resolve the issue, TOSOT agreed to send me a replacement unit at no charge to me. It arrived within a week with no product damage and the install went much quicker the second time as I knew what to expect. I am happy to report that the new unit works well, is very quiet and even though I mounted the outdoor unit on the wall outside my home office just below the window, it is so quiet that you really hear nothing. The fan on the indoor unit blows efficiently and also very quietly. I would give the product 5 stars except for the damage and time consumed trying to resolve the issue. But the attention I received was professional and timely not withstanding the time zone differences and the time it took to have the replacement unit delivered. For the money and for a DIY'er like me, this is a great product and I highly recommend it. Kudos for the responsive customer service and technical support I received. ... show more

It is very quiet, and very energy efficient. Only cost a few dollars a day to run this 12,0000 BTU unit. On a 100 degree day it cooled my 3 car garage to 78 degrees in just a few hours. Well worth the money!!!!!

I have extensive experience with various AC brands, including TOSOT, Midea, GE (Haier), AUX, Pioneer, and Frigidaire. I personally installed 10 AUX, 2 TOSOT, and 1 Pioneer mini splits over the past 5 years. TOSOT, essentially a GREE product with a name tailored for the US market, stands out for its superior build quality compared to AUX, albeit at a slightly higher price. Pioneer mini-splits, while also well-made, are typically priced around $900 unless on sale. Notably, GREE is a top-tier AC manufacturer, comparable to Midea and Haier, whereas AUX is considered a second-tier manufacturer. For 12000 BTU 20 Seer of price of $700~, it is definitely one of the best buys! For installation, I highly recommend to get vacuum the lines. In addition, getting two things for preventing leakage: Flareseal and nylon gasket sealant. Check YouTube video for installation. It takes about 4-6 hours depending on wiring and making holes. For results, you should be able measure the output air temp ~40 - 45 F. ... show more
