The heavier the light fixture, the harder they are to install. That's why most come in multiple pieces so they can be assembled after the wiring is done. This one, however, isn't designed that way. This is designed with hidden screws so that the glass rim is installed first - which makes it heavier and more cumbersome to line up. This comes with a mounting plate with ~2.5" studs that the decorative caps screw onto. Once I aligned everything I learned that the studs were 3/4" longer than they needed to be for my ceiling (where the box was flush with the sheetrock) - so everything had to come off (including the wire nuts since I didn't want such a heavy light to dangle) while I adjusted the studs. Would've been far easier with screws that you push through, twist, and then tighten. ... show more

I like the design and style of this light. It looked nice in the hallway I installed it in. Glass and aluminum construction, the finish on it is a bit thin though. It should be fine once installed and just lightly cleaned or dusted occasionally. Installation is standard three wire light fixture. My one issue with most of these fixtures has to do with the too long mounting screws and the acorn style nuts that barely screw on. I dinged it a star for those issues and feel the price point could be slightly less. Not a bad fixture though and it looks good once installed. ... show more

Nice sleek-looking fixture. Love that the glass is open at the bottom so it's easy to change bulbs and it doesn't accumulate dead bugs. Wiring was straight-forward, but it was a little bit of a pain to mount - it's held onto the mounting bolts with two round little decorative nuts that are slippery af, and since the glass isn't removable the fixture is heavy for its size. You have to hold it up and line up the holes on the fixture with the mounting bolts and then screw those slippery little round nuts on. It was a frustrating experience. I liked this fixture so much that I ended up buying two of them! Honestly that’s probably a good enough merit to recommend the product but I think it’s still important to highlight my only complaint; cheap gold paint. So this probably won’t be an issue long term because how often are you messing with your lamp fixtures? Essentially I did notice the gold paint looks a bit thin. The paint almost seems like it could chip off by looking at it too long. Around edges I already noticed some small micro chips that had formed while at the factory. So that was a disappointment. But again it probably won’t get worse nor from a distance you will see them. All in all, it’s short of being 5 stars but 4 stars is still pretty good. ... show more

This installed pretty easy; it did take two of us as there was no way of holding onto the unit and wire it with just one person. Did end up with a third person holding a flashlight so we could see to mount the main fixture onto the ceiling bracket. We did have to modify a little as the long bolts that hold the main fixture to the hanging fixture are too long. The bolt length is adjustable but we could not use that feature as the bracket is flush mounted to the ceiling with no space to adjust the bolts upwards. Considered cutting the bolts but that meant taking it back down after we had already wired it in. So used a couple standard nuts to snug the fixture tight and then used the decorative ball nut on the ends to hide the bare bolt. Don't think anyone will be looking that close to see this. Turned out great, the fixture is very pretty and will have to look for some functional yet decorative bulbs to finish the look; put just basic bulbs in so we could have our lighting back on. ... show more

I love the look of this modern light. I’m in the process of converting our old nursery into a home office and want modern but transitional. The gold leans more orange than champagne, but on the ceiling it won’t clash with the other gold accents. The light is well made and sturdy. Only complaint is the inside where the light attaches to the ceiling bracket is scratched. It took a picture for reference, but it wasn’t enough to knock a star off. ... show more
