Great little teapot. Will definitely boil on a regular wood stove. If you are using this as a way to humidify, I doubt any kettle would work unless you’re wood stove and living stove is very small. I can only maintain humidity with a 1 gallon open top pot on the stove. That’s running the regency f2500 in a large open area (400ftsq room connected to open kitchen/dining area). For tea, I don’t see why not? I don’t use it for that. Watch for rust, though. ... show more

I purchased this tea pot after deciding to step up my tea game. After doing some research, this was the mid-range price for an introductory pot and seemed like the perfect place to start my journey. It was packaged very well and came in perfect condition. The pot itself is cast iron and has a bit of weight to it. The color was stunning and it simply felt like a quality product. I boiled my first brew on my gas stove on low. The entire pot heats up very well, with the handle remaining cool to the touch. I then put my loose leaf tea in the basket and let it brew for 5 minutes off the heat. The first pour was a surprisingly solid steam and didn't spill a drop. I came back for my 2nd cup 30 minutes later and the tea was still perfectly warm! Clean up was easy enough. The only thing slightly annoying was my hand not fitting in the pot well to reach all the wet spots to dry, so I had to leave it out. Like any other cast iron product, it does run the risk of rusting if not properly handled. However, if you take care of it, I predict a long life span for this pot. For the money, I think this was an amazing buy. It'd also make a great gift for anyone who likes tea, as the weight of the product definitely makes it feel more expensive than it is. Despite what this says, after some googling, I discovered you are only supposed to brew tea in here, not boil water. It says in the description that it is stovetop safe, but in the Engrish instructions, it vaguely hints this is not the best idea. A few searches lead me to the fact that if it has a different interior than the exterior, it is not all cast iron and not made for the stovetop. Cons: ~The Diffuser is mesh junk. Literally looks like it'd only be good for straining spaghetti or catching stuff at the bottom of the sink after washing dishes. Tons of leaves got through. I have a real diffuser that I bought separately that I love, and I recommend buying ANYTHING else. It also has no handle or anything to remove the diffuser with, so that's another issue if you literally have nothing else. It'll work in a pinch if it's all you have, but please if you buy this, buy a diffuser with it! ~ It tiny. It's cute and little and I love it for that, and I'll get about three cups of tea out of it for my 5ML cup. I wouldn't use it if you're wanting a huuge amount of tea, but it's great for a small serving. ~has a weird smell when first running boiling water in it Pros: ~It's great for a small serving. Just pouring tea for myself, it has plenty. ~It's neat. It's got a cool look and being all iron it's heavy and weighty and feels nice for the price. ~It keeps your tea HOT. Like wow, it's super hot. I like that I don't have to rush to enjoy my tea. ~The coloring seems even and even if it's not being used it'll look cool sitting somewhere. ~It pours nicely, and doesn't seem to spill or threaten to drop the lid the moment you tilt it. ~Could probably take out two or three people charging at you with it while you make tea. Overall it's nice. I just brewed my first pot of tea, and despite the horrible diffuser, (which is the reason for no five stars) it's a good teapot. I did as suggested in the instructions and what I found online, and poured boiling water in first, swished it around, and then poured it out and then made tea with new boiling water. There is a weird smell when you first boil water in it, almost familiar, kind of smells like a department store. Regardless, I'd suggest making sure to run a couple of boiling water flushes through it just to make sure you don't have to worry about anything. The tea tastes great, despite all the little tea leaves floating around inside. I'm pretty happy with it, of course I'll amend that if it insults my dog or melts from the inside out or something. But for the moment, it seems like a good tea brewer. Just be sure to heat the water elsewhere first, and I'm sure this'll last for quite some time. On opening, it seems neat, and dries quickly. We love that this teapot keeps a pot of tea hot without any wifi gimmicks or electricity as we linger over dinner and dessert. This is the perfect gift for hot tea drinkers. It holds enough so one of us doesn’t have to keep reheating the tea! It’s unique looking and I leave it on stovetop all the time. I got the green outlined with gold and it’s really pretty. The handle stays cool and seems very stable. It’s a breeze to clean although you will need your narrow bottle or straw cleaning brush if you’re not good about cleaning it as you go. Great value given that I use it for hot tea delivery and a little piece of art in my kitchen (in that I leave it out all the time). Buy it. Gift it. ... show more

Super cute item, looks awesome on the stove. But the handle is very squeaky and gets extremely hot. You can’t add much to this without it bubbling out. But it’s great for tea for one.
