Got this for my leather work for Christmas. Be prepared to make your own base for it cuz the Mount and hardware it comes with don’t line up and the bolts are to short to attach even if it did. Otherwise the cobbler itself seems to work great.

The aluminum frame is a lot better quality than the cast iron ones. Other parts are still of low quality, just like any one the others, yet functional. Another thing that sets this one apart from the others is that most of the rust-prone areas of the machine are coated in a thin layer of fake chrome plating. A few areas have a little flaking, but overall it’s not too bad. After cleaning it and lubricating parts, the thing operates smoothly and makes a pretty good stitch right out of the box.     • Well, it sews, but takes some tinkering to work well
Well to quote an earlier comment, it helps to have a mechanical aptitude and like tinkering. Its a rough device but this brand / version is at least been up graded .....some what. Takes a while to get tensions tweaked in but seems to sew anything i feed it. Now i just need to learn to control it better. ... show more

It didnt stitch when I got it and there might as well be no directions. It prob took me 5 hours or more to get it to operate correctly. It works but it's not the handiest thing to operate. Better than hand stitching I suppose.

The machine was as advertised, arrived on time and complete. Follow one of the videos on You Tube to 'tune it up' and it works very well. Just toss the stand as it is not sturdy or stable.

Once set up, the machine functions well. I found I needed to understand every function of each part to properly arrive at success. The machine is a crude copy of a Singer unit so realize the design is good.

    • Really not worth it.
I bought for 119.00. After setting it up and watching videos for hours I could not get it to catch the bobbin. So when I returned it I wanted to replace it. The price was 149.00. Could not believe it jumped that much in 4 days. Bought a singer HD for a little more.
