  • Great purchase for homeowner with a large lot
Style: Turbo Fogger
I own a home on a 4 acre lot that is mostly wooded and have all the bugs that come along with it. I hired a pest control company to spray for mosquitos once every quarter, but soon figured out that wasn't nearly enough to allow us to be outside and use the pool in the backyard without getting eaten alive. So, I purchased this fogger after a lot of research, and I'm glad I did. The fogger was easy to put together, is easy to use and has made a big difference in the number of mosquitos in our yard. One tip that I read from another review: to avoid leakage, buy some screw-type hose clamps to use in place of the ones that come with the unit because you tighten them down easily. After using the fogger a few times, I've learned that it starts more easily if I barely have the choke on. It generally won't start if I have the full choke on. After it starts, turn the choke off and let the engine run for a minute or two to warm up, otherwise operating the trigger causes the engine to bog down until I release the trigger. But it works like a champ after the engine is warm. One other tip, I generally use a mixture of bifen and an IGR in the tank and have found it works better if I pre-mix the two actives with water in a 5-gallon bucket using a paint stirrer on my drill. The first few times I used it, I tried pouring the two actives in the tank and adding water, but it they didn't mix well. I've also used the unit as a leaf blower a few times after removing the impeller at the end of the air tube. I've never owned a backpack blower before, so can't compare, but this works well for me in blowing leaves and pine needles off my grass. I'd buy this unit again in a heartbeat because it's easy to use and let's me spray my own yard when it's needed at fraction of the price I was paying a pest control company to spray a few times a year. One season and the unit has already paid for itself. ... show more

  • First Fogger, First Impression
Style: Turbo Fogger
This is my first fogger but I'm expecting a nice improvement in the mosquito population around my home in Florida. I can recommend the fogger which is a good value for the price. There are a few refinements that would not cost much that would make it as good as some of the foggers twice the cost which I covered in my review video. I'd say the biggest issue for most people will be the weight. Once full of almost 4 gals (28lbs) the weight is noticeable when taking it on and off. Using a workbench or table to get it off the ground will help a lot. Assembly is straight forward. Operation is like any other 2-stroke equipment. Application is as easy adjusting the flow rate on the atomizer. The liquid is evenly "vaporized" for a good cloud during application. Range seems sufficient. The effectiveness will vary based on chemical used, quality of the application and vegetation so you will have form your own opinion on the impact on mosquitoes in your area. ... show more

  • Don't be deterred by the negative comments of others.
Style: Turbo Fogger
**UPDATE** 2nd season in the books and still as good as the day I bought it. Just be sure at the end of the season not to let it sit with fuel in it or liquid in the fogger tank. Basic maintenance like this will keep the machine running like a champ! Game changer. My house sits on 12 wooded acres of land with creeks and pockets of water. Mosquitoes have always been a nightmare. This year was the worst to date, you couldn't even go outside for a second without being completely dismantled. I got a quote for the remainder of the season to have a company come spray and it was just shy of $800 so I figured why not try this and do it myself. To be honest, I'm a Stihl guy as the equipment is so darn reliable but along with that, it is expensive so I decided to give this a go. To those that say the instructions are lacking, confusing, etc, you should just hire a service. I opened the box, laid the parts out and common sense kicked in. Part B goes on part A, tighten clamp. Attach throttle to part C, find single screw in bag, put bent hose on, put on the misting end, attach 1 clear hose, done. To the reviewers that said "this thing leaked all over my back", learn how to properly push on a hose and put the clamp on. It does not leak unless you do something wrong, that simple. To those that had some kind of mechanical issue with the motor, I can't speak to that. Things happen. Mix your fuel properly and like any 2-stroke it should just last forever. If you leave fuel in it for a year and expect it to work when you need it, it won't but that's on you. Some carburetors need to be adjusted for elevation, it's an easy thing to do. This thing worked perfectly right out of the box, I am in Michigan. As for chems -- in the past I have always used Talstar P and been happy with a handheld pump sprayer. Talked to a commercial guy over the weekend that said "Demand CS is the bomb". Went out on a limb and bought a bottle. 32oz for $130-something, steep. Whoa. Sprayed my place this evening at 630 and I feel like Connor McGregor himself came and knocked every mosquito out cold. Before that I was getting kamikaze bombers into my retina before I could run out and grab my latest Amazon package from the porch. It's 923pm EST and my wife and I have been sitting out on the deck enjoying a completely bug free life, yes, that fast. Should I have longevity issues with the actual equipment I promise I'll update this review but from what I experienced initially, today was worth the $399 for this piece of kit. Happy guy living in the woods. ... show more
