These curtains are COMPLETELY opaque! The fabric is lush and so soft. The way they hang on the rail allows for no light to seep up or around the edges. They are thick and of the same material on both sides, so there is no "powdery" coating on the back where the sun can damage it and dry rot it away like those "thermal blackout" curtains. I was concerned this was not true velvet, it is, a short velour velvet. The color I chose, Burnt Orange, is beautiful, weight is good and drapes well. These were a perfect addition to my art studio room. I highly recommend this product.

While these are not absolutely perfect, they come pretty damn close. I'm obsessed with the hanging options, color, and gorgeous green velvety fabric. They made our bedroom look so regal and awesome. My only tiny disappointment is that the corners seem to turn up a bit, but I can hide that by folding them in, and they aren't full blackout, but I have a shuttle behind, so that's okay with me as well. They feel more like fake lightweight suede. Not like medium weight cotton velvet. More shiny and slick to the touch. They do drape nicely. These curtains are beautiful but the shade of mauvy blushy pink is weird. When the sun is coming through them when closed, they are a horrid bright red. My daughter called the room “the vampire dungeon” because they make the room look like it’s glowing red lol! So I moved them. But unfortunately we had a brownish carpet and they take the color, making them look very brown and not pink at all. 😭. I kept them and tried them in our bedroom- cream and blush rugs and no direct sunlight through the window and they look great! Good length, not very thick or heavy, very soft. I still like them.
