They have an extra layer of material over the curtain itself which you could tie up or leave out and in the curtain material, they have cut away star shapes into the fabric so during the daytime, it is dark enough in the kids room that is great for a nap time and has little twinkling lights that come through. From many of the pics I thought they looked kinda cheap But they look way better in person I love the scalloped edges One side is really satin and shiny and pretty Unfortunately they made that side for spectators outside your window So my daughter and I decided to flip them We don't care if the top where the grommets are show the white inside instead of pink fabric We prefer the satin side for her view The white at the top kinda blends in with the curtain rod anyway Also we like the sheer white lace layer on the backside too So when she ties each satin panel during the day, the sheer panels can hang behind and over the windows and let the sun through This all seems to make the most sense for the best look and function I dont know why they would put the sheer in the front I think they must have sewn them backwards by mistake ... show more
