    • It definitely keeps the mosquitoes at bay.

Works as expected for keeping the mosquitoes away. I wish it had a switchable timer to shut it off after a predetermined time (1-3 hours would be ideal since the repellent pads are designed to last for at least three hours). It's easy to forget that it's on and to forget to shut it off (especially if you fall asleep). It's kind of a waste of resources (fuel) to wake up the next morning to find that you almost emptied the fuel cartridge. Also, I have noticed that if left outside and the overnight temperature falls to about 60° or less, the unit takes a few tries to to start. Also, don't leave this unattended in a place that gets direct sunlight for more than half an hour. Direct solar heat will obviously activate the pad and you'll come home to find that you need a new one. That warning may be in the instructions, but who reads those? Anyway, I like it and it does what I bought it for. I just have to be more diligent in shutting it off, at least until Thermacell gives me a timer, then I can go back to being my good old irresponsible self. Ciao! ... show more

This works as advertised, only knock is it takes a couple minutes for it to really take affect once it does it’s great. there is no smell to it when it’s on. I leave this on top of the patio table and there is no issue with mosquitoes bitting under the table.

Have four of these that I set up just about anywhere I go where we are going to be outside. Takes about 10mn to get them up to speed but once they heat up they work better than spray or anything else out there. Everyone I have share them with have purchased some for themselves. Only 2 people reported being bitten and those people said that mosquitos always love them and they get bit when no one else does. This product was the unsung hero of my party! Two of the reasons for my purchase have not been met. The first is that there is definitely smoke. Although it is not overpowering, it is there. Secondly, the 12 hour pad in no way, lasts 12 hours. It turns white after about six hours. I hate mosquitoes but I hate a mosquitoe repellant that doesn't do what it promises to do for $30.00. ... show more
