  • Great machine and chip size!
Researches chippers/shredders and bought based on reviews and price. Super easy to put together, except for the bar for the collection bag as it wouldn't clip without a little bending adjustment. This chipper made small chips great for the garden and our goat pen. The shredding portion made longer shreds of small limbs and branches for our compost pile. So far this is a great product for our small acreage. I can't wait to see what it'll do to our leaves ... show more

  • delivered broken and still doesn't work a month and a half later
I had one before and it worked great. The new one came with a damaged hopper and they sent a new one two weeks later. When I got it I started the unit and it worked for a few minutes and died. Customer service stated they would send me a new carb. Two weeks later they said it won't come until next month and I can't return it because it had gas in it. Very disappointed in how you treat your customers. Update: Still haven't shipped the missing part. Do not trust this company. Another update - almost two months later and still nothing. • Good choice for mid-range shredding. Great volume reduction - 20:1
I've enjoyed this chipper/shredder for the time I've had it, probably 12 hours of running. It is pretty easy to put together. . .took me less than an hour by myself. There were a few minor misalignments that a little love pat from my hammer squared away. 20oz of engine oil was included which was a nice surprise. It's made in China and you can tell when you read the assembly instructions. By and large it is on target but there are a few times where you'll have to figure out how pieces go together on your own. Pretty basic but not addressed in the manual. It's not an anvil but it's not made of eggshells either. Vibrates a bit but bearable. Very easy to cart around. Runs like a top. It has cranked first pull every time. It does require a stout tug to get going but fires right up. As far as operation it will easily eat leaves and small twigs. Vines and dense mats (like root balls) will choke it down a bit. You have to tamp most debris into it (as opposed to just lobbing it in the hopper) although that gets better as you learn what it can and can't take and how to feed it efficiently. The debris bag is stout and I like the zipper at the bottom to make emptying easy. This thing shreds as advertised: 20:1 and it's a fine mulch when it comes out. It takes limbs up to 3 inches in the cone but this is the wrong shredder if that's the bulk of what you want it for. Last operating comment is that it is loud and it is dusty. really dusty. I bought a vacuum attachment for it as well from Earthquake. I'm not sure what the relationship is between Earthquake and TAZZ but the vacuum said it worked with this and the lid doesn't fit the hopper. Sent that back. Overall very happy with this purchase and it is making some fine mulch/compost for my landscape beds. Update: Just ran it for the 5th or 6th time and the center bolt that holds the blade assembly sheared off. I'll leave my 4 star rating for now and see how they do on standing behind their product/customer service. ... show more

  • The mulch bag is no longer available.
This is undoubtedly the best chipper/shredder I've ever used. I purchased my about 4 months ago. Today, the ring that connects to the mulch bag and gets connected to the machine output broke. The part is available. The bag is no longer available. The machine isn't worth much if there is no bag. Without a bag, it blows mulch everywhere. I hope you read this review prior to purchasing this unit so you can decide whether it's worth the price tag against not having a mulch bag that lasted less than 6 months. ... show more

  • Quite expensive for cheap steel
Owned and operated for four years. First, the muffler broke off its mount flange and muffler body on separate instances, welded that up; second, throttle lever broke off, reinforced and epoxied it together, third, very difficult to obtain parts as they are unobtainable due to "unavailability" which is why I have to band-aid this thing together, fourth, the various steel components (steel types) used to build this thing is wholly inadequate and quite weak: shredder flails broken apart (can't repair unless I can get the same steel thickness), original chipper knives need to be constantly sharpened and will chip and/or deform (welded beads of E10018 to toughen the edge), top feed hopper constantly cracking at the mounting flange particularly at the bolts outward (weld with 6010 and it develops cracks elsewhere or alongside the welded area, seems to be from metal fatigue). Very poor machine, very poor value, will replace with an old machine that I previously owned and operated for decades but hard to find. Will keep on repairing this thing until I find one. ... show more

  • Good for the price.
I bought mine open box and it looks like it was returned because of bends in the hopper. I was able to straighten them out but the holes on the hopped did not align well to the engine piece. I had to force the screws and fix it a bit. Overall it works well on smaller limbs. You have to go slowly with large limbs to not lock up the engine. For what I paid, it was worth it, but it was half of retail. ... show more

  • Very capable machine
Started right up after assembly. Works better than I anticipated. Solidly built and works pretty efficiently. Very happy with my purchase.
