I'm quite impressed with this tarp. The coated, woven fabric is heavy duty. It's sewn very well and grommets are in there tight. It has good weight to it but still folds up easily. Not sure about long-term durability and UV resistance. I got mine for temporary use, not permanent. I would imagine constant outdoor exposure to wind, rain and sun would take it's toll. That's par for the course with this type material. Again, I've not tested it like that. I'm only basing it what I've seen from similar materials. Used this to waterproof the lid of an in ground chicken shelter in my field so they can escape the heat in summer and was covered with dirt so no degradation from sun exposure. This tarp seems to be of same quality as any in the same mill rating from my local farm n feed stores but slightly cheaper. Tarps are meant to be temporary use items. One season in the sun will destroy any tarp like this, but they hold up for many years if you are able to use them in a situation that they are not exposed to the sun. Cover sharp edges with a thick cloth of some type if your going to be putting a tarp over it, otherwise expect a hole to get ripped into it. This goes for any tarp. ... show more

I am a simple man, I only need a few things in a good tarp - it needs to not rip itself to shreds when I use it on pavement/concrete/gravel, and it needs to *actually* be waterproof and not seep water through overtime. This tarp covers both of those bases! It's indeed 'heavy duty'. I have dragged this thing across gravel of all shapes and sizes for a month now, and it's just merely seeing surface scratches. No tears, no loose threading, no stretches or contusions. Just a solid rectangle of pure durability. As for water-proofing, It's been keeping my wood chipper bone-dry despite crazy summer rains. This is a great heavy duty tarp for multiple purposes. As a homeowner on the Texas Gulf Coast, I wanted this in case of damage due to hurricanes, so I'm not using it yet. It might come in handy when my son's family moves later this month in case of inclement weather, it will cover the bed of my pickup truck quite handily. I picked up this tarp to use to move out a TON of junk from an old garage that had part of the roof collapse and did not want to ruin the vehicles interior. I wanted a very heavy-duty tarp, and this one was absolutely perfect. I was able to fold the tarp on itself and put it in the back of our SUV and did not have any issues at all with the tarp tearing or leaking. I was able to hose this off and fold it up for another use down the road. This tarp is very much heavy duty and you can feel the quality of it right as you open the package.
