The media could not be loaded. A lot of people may have overlooked how important sound is in a video production. In fact, in most cases audio is just as crucial as, if not more important than, the video image quality. The Synco G1 system is very compact. As you can see in the attached pictures, the transmitter and the receiver are pretty much the exact same size, measured at 2”x1.5”x5/8”. The clip on the transmitter also acts as a camera cold shoe mount so you can easily mount it on the camera. It also has a headphone jack so you can monitor the sound while recording in case your camera does not have a headphone jack. The receiver has the same clip so you can clip it onto your shirt, or you can use the included lavalier mic, which is about 4ft long. I used the system for an interview shoot and it does the job wonderfully. They worked right out of the box. I did not need to pair them before use. I do not have another wireless mic system to compare with, but you can hear in the sample I attached that the sound is very clear. I also like the case they included. It feels tough yet light weight, packs everything and is very easy to carry. They also include a short 3.5mm audio cable for smartphone use, which is very nice. Another accessory I really like is the usb A to 2 usb C charging cable! Now you can charge two devices at the same time while only taking up one usb A port! Now on to the cons. The reason I took out one star is that the advertised signal distance is up to 164ft, however, in my test video, in a pretty open area the signal starts cutting in and out at about 60ft (does not matter if the person wearing the mic is facing the camera or facing away the camera). This is not a deal breaker for me at all as I do not think I’ll ever use it at such a long distance (60ft is already a very good working distance). Also, it would be great to somehow have a display that shows the battery level. Other than those this system dramatically improves the production value of your video at a very affordable price! This unit works fine. I even tested it at long distances and it worked well. I do have a couple of gripes with it, though. When mounted on the camera, it protrudes toward the rear of the camera, making it difficult to use the camera's eyepiece. It should swivel sideways to get out of the way. The second gripe is that there is no way to see how low the batteries are. This is a big problem. A third gripe is that the microphone gain is not as they say it is. I tested it with my camera and had to repeatedly talk into it while pushing the gain button while looking at the level on the camera before I could tell where to put it. It really needs a gain indicator. I do like that it came with a charger cable to charge the receiver and transmitter at the same time. However, it did not come with an actual charger. I hate juggling chargers around because nothing is shipped with them anymore. Update: I was having a terrible time with my camera not keeping the focus setting. Fortunately, I finally saw what was happening. The microphone receiver cable that goes between the camera and the receiver has small tags on each end so you will know what device to plug that end into. Chance would have it that the little tag was hitting the focus icon when I flipped my screen around, forward facing, to see myself in the camera. This happened randomly and drove me nuts. The media could not be loaded. Honestly was a little surprised at how good this is. I wish I would have picked up the 2 mic package now. As you can see from the video, using this Mic makes a big difference in sound quality. The gain seems to be set a little high on these as I had to turn my camera audio levels all the way down to 2 in order to avoid clipping, but I think that they sound great at that level. I tested them outside to see how far I could walk away from the receiver, and they seem to work well all the way to about 75ft as long as there is a clear line of site. I am only using them in a room to record videos so its not an issue for me. The receiver/transmitter is quite small and I really like that the transmitter actually has a built in mic in case you are not able to run a lav mic for some reason. The quality is actually quite good on that as well. Another great feature is that the clips the made for the transmitter/receiver fit into the hot/cold shoe on your camera. Makes it really easy to keep everything together. Overall I think that these are a great value. ... show more

First, I want to start by saying that this mic is amazing for the price! I have the Rode mice that is very similar and I was blown away at the value of this mic. This is just as good audio-wise and to top it off it comes in a much better case, comes with a lav mic and the cables to go to the camera or phone. This unit also has the option to have 2 mics to one receiver. (I bought the single mic option) I am adding some photos so you can see everything it comes with as well as a size comparison to the Rode. For the price, I highly recommend this to anyone filming youtube videos, events/weddings, or ever on commercial shoots. the form factor is so small it makes it very easy to throw into a camera bag. The only downside is that there is not a screen to see the battery level but for the price its worth it. The LEDs on the unit do a great job of letting you know if anything is wrong. I will be testing this more over the coming months at some jobs and if anything comes us I will update this. ... show more
