Features

  • The SV216 Barlow lens adopts a 4-piece telecentric design; which effectively prolongs the focal length of the primary mirror without introducing chromatic aberration and vignetting problems that bother users; offers excellent spherical aberration control; resulting in a flatter field of view than standard Barlow lens
  • The magnification of the SV216 Barlow lens is constant at 2 times; the 4-piece design of the Barlow lens and the optimized optical structure ensure that the magnification factor of the Barlow lens remains unchanged no matter where the Barlow lens is installed in the optical system
  • SV216 2x Barlow lens adopts 3 screws design and coaxial locking device; improving the concentricity of the optical axis of the system can significantly improve the quality of captured images
  • The 4 lenses of the SV216 Barlow lens are fully multi-layer enhanced coating; which makes the picture bright and sharp; the edges of the lens are blackened to eliminate internal light scatter to maximize image contrast
  • The low magnification eyepiece is matched with the SV216 telecentric 2x 4-element Barlow lens; which can enjoy the magnification effect of the high magnification eyepiece while the eye relief distance is still within the comfortable observation range of the human eye
  • 1.25-inch interface; the SV216 Barlow lens has a 1.25-inch interface; which can be installed with standard 1.25-inch eyepieces; filters and zenith mirrors to make it easy to use
  • Brass compression ring; the brass compression ring firmly fixes the eyepiece in place without damaging the matching accessories

  • Beautiful piece of equipment
Another finely well made Svbony lens. Like other reviewers have noted this Barlow lens is built very well and gives a nice clear image with no edge coloration like cheaper Barlows. I used it in our clubs 13 inch Dob, in fact that was the telescope I bought it for. For the first time I saw Jupiter's giant red spot using this Barlow and was witnessed by other club members. I have yet to try it on my 8 inch Mead but I am sure it will be as clear on my Mead as it is on the Dob. Last I would like to state that all my Svbony products have been outstanding 5 star products. Svbony is the first company I look for when buying lens equipment for my telescopes. ... show more

  • Compares very favorably to other more expensive focal extenders
This is actually a focal extender and not a barlow. I compared this with a ES 2X 2inch focal extender which is 7x the price and much heavier. While the ES version offers brighter views due to the larger aperture, the cost and weight doesn't justify it against this for planetary imaging. Great value and solid optics. ... show more

  • Built like a tank
Packaging was premium and once the Barlow is out of the casing, it felt very well made. First views were good with a Super 25 eyepiece and will test with more premium eyepieces in the future.

  • works great!
I use this for my 130mm orion telescope and aberration is gone when viewing the moon. I haven't use it yet for deep space objects simply cause my goto mount is Alt-AZ but when I upgrade to a go Eq- mount I will be using this for sure.

  • This is a Total novice review but I think it's a great addition worth having
Being a total novice. This Barlow lens is soo much better than what I had got in a telescope kit. The image is as sharp as just using the lens without as with the Barlow. It's like adding a few more power lenses to my collection.

  • This is clearly a precision product, nicely made
I unfortunately can't use this in my telescope as I had intended. While my telescope eyepiece fits it, it is unfortunately too small for the aperture of the barrel. I am quite disappointed, but I plan to return this so someone else can use it. I have dealt with a diversity of optical equipment, and this is a nice piece. ... show more
