  • Comfortable and NOT too hot!!
Size: Full Item Display Height: 2.0 Inches
I moved into a student living apartment this year where they provide their own bed and mattresses. At first it was comfortable enough but after a couple week I started getting bad pain in my back because the mattress was so firm it didn’t have any give and it was way too flat. I got this mattress pad a few weeks ago and it’s really really helped. It’s very soft but with the mattress I have underneath it’s not too soft at all. The foam is a little flimsy so I could see it breaking after multiple years or if you have a cat that likes to tear things up (luckily my cats at my moms and not my apartment). But for the year it works for me perfectly. It’s also NOT too hot!! I was worried about the reviews saying it gets too hot cause I’m a VERY warm sleeper. But honestly, I didn’t feel too much a difference with this mattress pad at all. I keep my room cold as well (around 68-67F) though, since I tend to sweat at nigh, so take that what you will. Overall very comfy and not too hot!! Be aware if you have a cat or small children though because it is just foam and I could see it being taken apart easily if kids or animals are trying ... show more

  • ATTENTION ALL SPOILED, TYPE-A COLLEGE KIDS
Size: Twin XL Item Display Height: 3.0 Inches
Okay, imagine, you are a type-A soon-to-be college freshman. For some reason, you are unconsciously convinced that if you plan, research, and diligently read every review for every minute detail in your new dorm room, your college experience will suddenly stop being scary. If you get the absolute best lamp, mirror, poster, drawers, stapler, mattress topper, etc. suddenly your abject terror and horror that everything will go horribly wrong and everyone will hate you will dissipate. Now that you've sufficiently been put in my shoes over the summer, you can more fully appreciate the HOURS (when I say hours I mean, like, two hours every day for three weeks) I spent looking at mattress toppers. I was particularly nervous about a mattress topper because I am both an insomniac, and spoiled. I have insomnia–so I can’t really sleep. I’m also spoiled; I’ve exclusively slept on a Serpa(?) memory foam, queen mattress for almost 8 years. Because of this, I was worried about the college mattresses. But–ATTENTION ALL SPOILED, TYPE-A COLLEGE KIDS–a solution has been found. The sure2sleep matress is hands down the best topper I could have asked for. I got the 3’ twin XL. I have not had a morning prickly arm, hip pain, or any problem falling asleep. I haven’t noticed it holding onto heat, a frequent complaint, or ripping. I simply opened it, let it unroll on its own to guard against any ripping while it was expanding, and let it hang out for a few hours. There was a faint smell for maybe a day. It is pretty tall, so I would recommend deep sheets, I use the target ThreadHold, so it covers the topper and the mattress. Two months later, I still have the hands-down best bed in the dorms. ... show more

  • Definitely works for some
Size: Queen Item Display Height: 3.0 Inches
Update: it's been 7-8 months now and I'd probably write the exact same review today, it's not degraded or sunken at all. First things first for a time reference: I'm writing this after having had the mattress pad in place for a bit over a month. Second: mine and my husband's experiences with this mattress pad are different. For me, it makes me hot when I sleep sometimes but it hasn't done the same for him; I'm an EXTREMELY cold sleeper, and he's a hot sleeper, so the logic there doesn't make sense to me, but it's what's happening. I'm not really sure if it's made a difference in my sleep quality; I think there's a good chance it has, but I'm a wreck and always have been when it comes to sleeping so I just don't know. My husband, on the other hand, has been acting like we live in a whole new world now. There was the pathetic world before the mattress pad and now the world of endless possibilities after the mattress pad. I know it sounds dramatic, but I'm not the one portraying that so give me a break here. He'll use his lunch break to just lay on the bed, laughing while excitedly hunkering down then falling asleep as quick as he always does. The impactful difference comes into play with pain; he's said many times now that the typical 'being a person who made dumb decisions while younger' back and joint and muscle pains just aren't really there now. I find it wild that a mattress pad could assuage so much (and I'm envious), but it's definitely working for him. I do find the thing comfortable, but I'm guessing my sleep problems are far more deep-seated than my external conditions so I'm a bad gauge anyway. Therefore, my husband's experience is the one that's really relevant here: for him it's apparently some sort of miracle. Logistical type info: I was looking at mattresses for a long time; we have a harder mattress. I'm a side sleeper with a pretty massive disparity between my waist vs hip/shoulder measurements, so I'm just... BENT all the time as my torso part is gravitating to the mattress but the other parts are too big to go any further. I wanted a foam-type mattress due to that, but I know there are usually problems involved with them (for whatever reason it's like a decent percentage of them just fail and sink after a year), and also Husband insists he does better with a hard mattress. This led me to believe we should get a hybrid, but those are gougingly expensive, which is gross, plus if the foam fails... it's stuck to the rest of it. Seems weird that it took me a long time to realize adding a mattress pad to our harder spring mattress literally creates a hybrid, but there it is. * I've read reviews about this falling apart or tearing after a short period of time; I went into the purchase knowing it's not really meant to be as long lasting as mattresses claim, but due to my husband's quality of life apparently sky-rocketing, I won't have a problem paying to replace it every 6 months (I mean I will, I'll hate doing it, and hopefully it will last longer). On the other hand if it only lasts a couple months, I'll be revising the review angrily, I'm sure. I'm only a bit over a month in, but the pad feels like day 1. I bought a waterproof, deep pocket mattress protector at the same time, so maybe that helps keep it from drying out, or maybe it's geological or seasonal... I just don't know why some people's fail far more quickly than they should but it makes sense to me that a waterproof protector would help with it drying out (as a ceiling or regular fan can't be hitting it as directly all the time). I'm not an engineer or a physicist, I'm just explaining my actions and the outcomes. ... show more

  • Great for the price
Size: Twin XL Item Display Height: 3.0 Inches
This adds so much comfort to my dorm mattress, it's crazy. There is a strong foam odor you can smell through sheets and it stays for a while, but I have gotten past it, and I imagine that happens with all similar products. For a while I found the three inch foam to be too much and I was struggling to sit up, but I've gotten used to it and it's great. My main issue is honestly that it's too big for my twin XL mattress. It works, but it's pretty funny-looking. I could probably trim the edges but it'd be near impossible to make it neat. Check the dimensions, but if it's too big, don't sweat it. ... show more
