    • Improve Handicapped Mobility for Vacations and People Unable to Pedal
I bought my SuperHandy mobility scooter three months ago and use it now mainly for vacations. I bought it to ease spinal stenosis pain during our daily 2-mile walks. Soon after buying it, however, I realized I had missed the seemingly obvious problem that I would not be getting any exercise. So, I ordered a Mobo Cruiser Shift that I could pedal and saved this for vacations. There are many reasons that the SuperHandy is valuable for improving mobility on vacations as well as for anyone who is unable to pedal. 1. It is lightweight, small, foldable, and detachable (I can easily get it into my sedan’s trunk or onto an Amtrak car without exceeding the 25 pounds limit that my orthopedist recommended). 2. It is small enough to go in and out of the aisles at almost any store (a crowded bookstore owner remarked that she had never seen a mobility device that could get by her piles of used books without having her move them). 3. It has storage for a spare battery under the detachable seat that doubles the duration for rides (it was not worn out after a seven-hour day exploring Washington DC). 4. The power is enough to get it up handicapped ramps and country roads. 5. The brake works well and has an excellent parking-brake setting (useful for stopping on inclines or storing in a vehicle). 6. It is durable (in my 50 or so hours of usage, I have not had to adjust anything). 7. The accompanying bag is handy, accessible, and lightweight. My only thought for improvement relates to the wheel size being so small that sidewalk cracks and building thresholds create rough jolts. If the diameter could be doubled without adding weight, it would be more comfortable and easier to maneuver. Strangers often comment on how convenient my SuperHandy is. A man who must make full-time use of his motorized wheelchair even commented one morning “I need one of those.” ... show more

Batteries last for at least four hours each and I have to it came with two steering is perfect I weigh 207 pounds and it holds me with no problem I’ve even had a small child sit on my lap I went all day through an amusement park and only had to change the battery toward the end of the day I went all through the Columbus zoo and didn’t have to change the battery till the end of the day everywhere I go people are amazed how strong lightweight and easy to use and one thing I really love is it does it beep when you back up and I know that’s supposedly a safety feature but it’s annoying and I can turn and look while I back up I added a cup holder the basket holds quite a bit the seat is full-size and it will hold a bag on the back of it where you put your feet it is perfect the handlebars adjustable I couldn’t be happier with it it has a Belle in case you’re coming up on someone so they know that you’re behind on because it’s quiet and it also has a meter on the front that you can check to see how much battery you have left I love the way the extra battery stores up under the seat all you have to do a stop reach under the seat grab your new battery reach around back take the old battery out put a new one in and then store the dead battery under the seat and keep going I went to an amusement park with it I can take it all the way up to the platform because it’s so much tinier than most of the big Gotti ones it’s welcome anywhere you go I couldn’t say anymore about it the seat is very comfortable it folds down it came with a lock and I can lock it up so that no one can take it anywhere I go that was a nice for them to give me a lock I recommend this to people who are ambulatory and can transfer them self and can lift it out of their car you can lift the body without a seat on it and even without the battery packs it’s very light then when you set it up you lock the middle frame put your seat on it has a pin to put the seat height you put the steering column where you want it it locks in the place and then put your batteries in it’s so easy I am weak as a feather and I can do it so most people that are ambulatory can use it best money I’ve ever spent it’s made the world of difference in my life I don’t hurt anymore when I’m out in recreational places with my grandkids parks amusement parks museums zoo I am amazed now I don’t get anxiety when I’m invited to go I just go ... show more

This review is for the SuperHandy Passport Mobility Scooter - Foldable 3 Wheel scooter GUT 112. I have had this scooter for a month now, and it continues to work well. I have mobility issues stemming from a broken femur last fall, so it was difficult for me to shop for groceries with my husband. We enjoy shopping for food and household items together, and I did not want to have my groceries picked out by a store employeee. So, this scooter is the solution to the problem. When we go shopping, I am riding in front in the scooter, and my husband is behind me with the shopping cart. The scooter is amazingly maneuverable and turns easily around the grocery aisles. Another important factor to consider with this scooter is that it is lighweight. At 35-37 pounds, my 81 year old husband can lift it into the back of our Honda CRV. The scooter folds in the middle, so my husband can fold the scooter and load it into the CRV fairly easily with no other disassembly necessary. And, the groceries still fit in the back of the CRV as well. I would caution that, since the scooter is very lightweight, it tends to bounce over rough ground. It is designed for store aisles and smooth pavement only. I would not recommend riding it in the yard or other ground. If you hit a bump or hole in the ground, the result might not be good. That said, I feel very secure when riding the scooter in a parking lot to get to the store entrance, and it is perfectly balanced in the store aisles. Also, there is an excellent video on YouTube showing how to assemble the scooter. Just be sure that you are watching the video for the GUT 112 scooter. Assembly is easy, but the video makes it even easier. I would recommend this scooter to anyone. ... show more
