I didn't know what to expect when I ordered this tarp. The description sounded good. But when you order from a picture, it's not the same as seeing it, holding it, checking it out, then buying it. And then there's the fact that I'm a 69 yr. old woman. What do I know about tarps ? But I paid attention to the thickness, the measurements, the corners, waterproof, tear proof. I took a chance. Delivery was exactly as I expected. And I was so glad to find that it was a very nice tarp. I used it to cover a large garage cabinet in an old barn. I wondered if it would tear dragging it over the top corners of the cabinet. But it didn't. My 50 yr. old son said I got a good tarp. He's had enough tarps to know what's good and what's not. It made me feel good that I made a good purchase. It has rained like the dickens sense we put it out in that old leaky barn. But the cabinet is dry. The tarp is holding up very well. I was looking for the "last tarps I'd ever buy" to supplement my outfitting for car camping. I looked around at the various options out there and settled on these. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, I figured they'd be better than the common tarp. To put it simply, I was astonished by the quality. They mean super heavy duty! The 12x16 tarps I purchased weigh in at probably better than 20 pounds each. They are thick and bulky, easily taking up at least twice the room of a normal tarp. The corners have solid reinforcement triangle pieces and the grommets are high quality and well secured. I honestly think these things could survive a category 5 hurricane with ease, though I have no intention of pushing them that far. While I am quite satisfied with the product, I don't think I quite needed to go this far in the degree of quality for camping tarps. While I'm certain they will last for my lifetime, and could pass down to my grandchildren's grandchildren, I probably would have preferred a little less weight. I sometimes do airplane based camping trips and these would quickly blow my weight limits for baggage. So, I think I actually want something like an 8-10 mil tarp for my camping tarp purposes. I often rig up tarps with tarp poles, I'm a little bit concerned these might stress my little tarp poles well beyond their ability, especially with a bit of wind. These would be an excellent choice for a boat or toy cover, or a tarp to put over firewood piles. They would also perform well for structure protection. You could probably use them to build a near permanent structure, complete with some level of snow load rating, if you wanted to. For me, I think these will be great on my wood piles and I decided to keep them for that purpose instead. I will even order at least two more, now that I know what I'm getting into.     • TARP COVER IS NOT ONE PIECE
Overall the tarp cover is what is advertised as to thickness, water proof,consistency in weave, nice brass grommets 18" apart. HOWEVER the manufacturer failed to mentioned that the 12x10 tarp is thermally welded two pieces: One is about 4ft wide, the other 6ft wide that makes up the 10ft section. At the High price paid I expected it to be one PIECE. Down graded review because of this. ... show more

Seems to be very well-made. The other tarp covers I have purchased have only lasted 3 years in the Arizona sun. This one seems to be much better quality. Note: the structure is 10 x 20 and this tarp does fit but just barely. If you want the tarp material to go over the edges get the next size up.

Made a frame for 2 cords of firewood and stretched the tarp over: 8'x8' with a pitched roof. It's the heaviest tarp I found. It's only been a few months but I have no doubt it will be good for a least a few years.

Shipped on time, arrived on time. I'll formally review this product once it has been subjected to weather and heavy use. I did not expe ct the product to be heavy and difficult to manipulate, and will address that aspect when I begin using the product.

This tarp was heavier duty/ thicker than I was expecting and to be honest probably a bit thicker than I needed. I purchased to go underneath an inflatable bounce house and wanted to prevent thorns or anything else from poking through the bottom, this tarp definitely succeeded for that purpose.
