Very easy to set up and use, includes everything that you need to start. Quality of detection is surprisingly good , found a coin 5 inches under sand and was surprised that it worked out , would definitely do more searching trips

It definitely detects metal. it's accurate in that if you find the spot on the end that pinpoints where the metal is you will find something. mine isn't exactly at the centerpoint so when you are zeroing in on the object it's kind of funky. And it's not entirely specific on how deep the object is either so sometimes you'll be digging around and find nothing. Other than that, i'd say for the price it's a solid buy. it doesn't feel flimsy or cheap. and you can fold it up (telescopic arm too) and put it in a backpack which is pretty cool if you plan to hike to spots to metal detect and don't want to carry around this giant thing lol. ... show more

    • Good introduction to metal detecting
I picked this up to see if my son would be interested in searching for hidden treasures. It came with everything you need to get started. Everything fits in a carrying bag which is really handy for transportation. It's quite lightweight and fairly straightforward to use. Take the time to reach the manual as there are a lot of icons and indicators on the readout. So you need to know what you are scanning for and how to read the nice big bold display. Scanning is pretty easy, and the hit indication is easy to determine. I was able to go out in my front yard and find several things I had dropped over the years that were now buried in my yard.
