  • Great for the price!
Color: Gray Style: Classic
I decided to take up spinning a little late in the pandemic so there wasn’t much to choose from as most bikes were out of stock or marked way up. My must haves included belt-driven, magnetic resistance, transport wheels, a device holder (so I could watch Peloton classes), and cadence (or RPM) tracker. Thankfully, Sunny came out with this bike in the last month or two so it was in stock and priced very reasonably! Even though there weren’t many reviews, I took the plunge and ordered off Amazon so I could receive my bike in less than a week. The Good: Assembly was far easier than an Ikea dresser and took less than an hour. The bike is super silent thanks to the magnetic resistance and the belt drive. Also, I’m loving the micro resistance knob! While visible levels may be good for those who want to track their progress, I’m completely fine with judging how much to add based on how I’m feeling. For example, if the instructor says bring resistance to 50, I’ll take it to a resistance where I’m giving 50% of my strength. While I could have easily bought a wahoo cadence tracker, it was great to not have to spend the extra money! For those who are newbies like me, cadence is measured by RPM, so this bike does in fact track cadence. I was a little worried about the transport wheels since they looked a little flimsy in the photos, but they’re actually quite sturdy and they all me to swivel the bike easily when I’m moving it in front of the TV. At 150 lbs, I am able to move from seated to standing without feeling like the bike is going to fall over, it’s very sturdy as far as I can tell. And lastly, the price can’t be beat considering the features. I assume it’s less expensive due to the lower flywheel weight, but the ride still feels plenty smooth. The Bad(ish): Box came a little beaten up but the frame was surrounded by styrofoam so no damage done. On my first ride, there was a slight scraping noise coming from the flywheel but after adjusting the bike it went away so I assume I was putting too much pressure on the front of the bike. Additionally, I felt and heard a slight thumping noise each revolution. After some trial and error, I found that one of my pedals was too loose and needed tightening. The seat is wide, which may be good for those who sit upright when cycling and plan to cycle for an extended amount of time, but I am using this bike strictly for Peloton classes so I’ve decided to buy a more narrow seat. On their site they describe this as an endurance bike so a wide seat is to be expected, just not what I need. Some thing that may bother someone else is that you can only see one metric at a time on the screen; however, I only ever look at the RPM tracker so this doesn’t bother me. So all of the negative things I experienced with this bike were either not important to me or it was fixable, therefore I am not taking off any stars. Overall this bike is a great entry-level or budget bike. It met all my minimum requirements at less than $400, so I am very happy with my purchase. ... show more

  • Great Entry Level Bike
Color: Gray Style: Classic
As someone who is totally new to spinning, I am very, very happy with this bike. Assembly was easy, as the frame of the bike ships in one large piece and you just have to attach the peripherals (handlebars, seat, pedals, computer, etc). I took my time at each step, and felt the process was pretty easy. Just be particularly careful when attaching the pedals. I think because the crank arms are attached to the main frame when the bike ships, if you were to strip the threads in a crank arm while assembling the pedals, you might need to replace the entire frame. The components of the bike feel pretty high quality, the only shoddy component I noticed was a kind of weird, messily superglued wire with slightly exposed insulation running to my pedals (pictures attached). I am guessing this is the RPM sensor? Kind of not great, but I have a wahoo cadence sensor anyway, so I'm not worried about the RPM monitor being a bit questionably installed. The RPM monitor still seems to work perfectly at the moment, and the messy glue isn't noticeable as it's fairly small/unobtrusive (and on the left side of the bike, which currently faces my wall). It is nice having the RPM monitor installed with the bike, as it does sense changes in my cadence just a *bit* faster than my wahoo cadence sensor, though I still like having the wahoo cadence monitor connected to my iPad so I can see a summary of my cadence throughout my workout, once I'm done. The bike seat is fine, though I got a gel seat cushion to help improve comfort. The handlebars are also fine. I thought the placement of the device stand might interfere with hand placement, but I actually don't find that to be the case. The best thing about this bike is that it is that the magnetic resistance allows it to be *silent.* I can crank the resistance up, stand out of the saddle, and still it makes no sound. It feels sturdy, both for me and my boyfriend, and the resistance is good enough for us. Though admittedly we are new to spinning, and don't really need heavy resistance yet. As a fairly small, 5'4" new spinner, I don't even get (anywhere) close to full resistance when working out, in the saddle or out of it. Maybe one day down the line we will upgrade to something with a heavier flywheel, but this is absolutely perfect for us for now (and hopefully the next few years). I'm very satisfied with this purchase, and (when combined with the peloton app), I'm loving being able to access spin classes from the comfort of my living room! UPDATE AFTER OVER A YEAR: I love this thing so much. I have had to do nothing in terms of maintaining the bike, the magnetic belt drive is so convenient. I ride 2-4 times per week, and it's so nice to have access to an easy workout in my living room. I still find that it has plenty of resistance to make my legs jelly. RPM monitor is still working perfectly. I love to putting my tablet on the tablet stand and doing a Peloton workout, but cannot imagine ever buying their bike. There is no way that the cost of their bike reflects a commensurate improvement in user experience (especially when you buy cheap a cadence sensor and heart rate monitor, and can see those on your tablet screen while you workout). I feel like I'm getting 90% of the peloton experience at a fraction of the cost. 5/5 love this bike ... show more

  • Good Bike, Good Price
Color: Gray Style: Classic
I've put about 20 hours on this bike with it set to what I feel is a slight incline resistance for cardio. It is quiet, and the flywheel rides smooth. The only knock I have against this bike in terms of function is the drive train doesn't allow free spin of the flywheel when you pause pedaling (of course this keeps you pedaling which is good for cardio) like you would have on a regular mountain bike or multi speed road bike. Assembly: The drive train comes preassembled. The only thing that isn't just tightening bolts into preset holes is the seat. With that, you only need to make sure it's straight when you tighten it on. Speaking of the seat, if doing half-hour rides or longer, get a padded seat cover like the bikearoo or similar (see photo), wear padded riding bottoms or get a cushioned seat. As with all non-therapy stationary bikes, the seat isn't that comfortable, though it's much better than a mountain bike seat. Overall: Good bike if you need it for general cardio. You can't beat the price and save money versus other more well known brands. The electronics on scan mode give you the basics you need to keep track of a workout. I can't speak to how this works with riding network programs, but it certainly gets the job done for low impact cardio quietly. ... show more
