Features

  • 1SUNLU Filament Dryer S2As a leading 3D printing manufacturer, we've invested years of research to develop a product that significantly enhances 3D printing results. Our filament dryer is the great solution, improving the printing effect and optimizing the printing process.
  • 2Importance of 3D Filament DryerFilaments will absorb moisture from the air, especially if they're old or stored in a humid place. Damp filament will cause many printing issues, but a filament dryer can remove the moisture and help reduse these problems.
  • 3Keep Filament Dry During PrintingSUNLU Filament Dryer can be used as a filament spool holder (storage dehydrator), and can dry filament during printing, thereby improving print quality. This feature is especially important for those who have their 3D printers in humid locations such as basements.
  • 4Revive Damp 3D printer FilamentMoisture can be a real problem for 3D printer filament, especially if it has been stored for a while. SUNLU Filament Dryer is specifically designed to remove excess moisture and revive old filament, saving you time and money by avoiding the need to replace damp filament.
  • 5Fast Heating and Even DryingSUNLU filament dryer heats up quickly to the preset temperature, while the built-in spindle ensures that the filament spins continuously for even drying. Additionally, users can customize the drying time (0-99 hours) and temperature (35-70 C) to suit their specific needs.
  • 6Very Simple yet Very EffectiveThe SUNLU filament dryer is user-friendly and straightforward. Equipped with a large touch screen, users can easily set different dry temperatures and times for different types of filaments with just a tap. This easy-to-use feature ensures that users can quickly dry their filaments and achieve superior printing results.
  • 7High Compatibility and CapacityThe SUNLU filament dryer S2 is highly versatile, with a large capacity of 265x274x118mm, making it compatible with filaments of 1.75mm, 2.85mm, and 3.00mm. Additionally, the dryer is designed with a translucent lid that enables users to check on the filament without having to open the lid.

  • Easy to use, very flexible settings
Size: Upgraded S2 Black
This is the first filament dryer I've purchased and wouldn't you know, Amazon recommended I get the new improved version with Fan.. after my purchase! I'm very happy with the performance however the touch screen is not as sensitive when I want, but more sensitive when I dont. I have to remember to keep things away from the panel so I don't accidentally graze it and change something. I'll get better the more I use it. My projects do turn out better when I use it so I'm going to have to buy 2 more for my other 3D printers. I use Anycubic Kobra Neo. ... show more

  • Doesn't vent any air and could really use some rubber feet
Size: Upgraded S2 Black
As far as good things for this dryer: I like that it's not too loud with the fan. I like that it has presets for drying the most common filaments and you can tweak the temperature or time to your liking. I like that you can print directly out of the dryer and that it has two exits for the filament. It does feed pretty well, but some filaments stick to themselves more than others. Now for the bad things: It really needs some ventilation to let some of the hot humid air out as it's drying. I ended up printing a wedge that props the door open about 1cm. That helps a lot with drying filament. The first time I used this it got hot but it didn't dry the filament very much. When I used it again with the wedge, it did a much better job drying. The other thing that's an easy fix, but should just come as a standard feature is rubber feet. My desk is pretty smooth and my printer will sometimes pull the dryer across the desk as it's pulling filament out of the dryer. I'm going to print some little TPU feet to put on the legs, but again, that's something that it should have had to begin with. - After writing this I checked and there are tiny rubber pads on the feet, but they don't seem to be grippy enough. ... show more

  • It works as advertised!
Size: Upgraded S2 Black
While researching for a filament dryer, I kept finding reviews of the original SUNLU V2 without the fan and filament holes and they weren't the best reviews. Fortunately, SUNLU apparently has listened to the previous shortcomings and corrected them with what I would say is really V2.1 by adding a fan and two filament ports (which allow moisture to escape). Yes, you hear the fan when running. But a fan is a fan, and they make noise when running. Not every manufacturer is going to spend the extra money to say install a Noctua fan to make it as quiet as possible. I'm not sure the hydrometer sensor is accurate it should be. I never get below 20% humidity, but I don't have anything I can use to properly compare with. I've started to put all my filament through the dryer (even brand new, just taken out of the vacuum bag) and I have noticed an overall improvement in the print quality, and less printing issues since starting this habit. This is with PLA on up to ASA filament. So, I can honestly say this has been a good investment since I am not having to reprint as often as I used to because of "wet" filament and poor print quality. So now I just say that having a filament dryer is a definite "must have" item if you have a 3D printer. And this filament dryer is a very cost-effective item. ... show more

  • Works great!
Size: Upgraded S2 Black
It's a bit on the expensive side but it is a nice upgrade over the older Sunlu dryer I own. I like the RH display on this unit. I can't say it's accurate or not but you can certainly see this value decrease as the filament dries. I suggest opening the lid occasionally to let out moisture and you can see the RH drop several points as you do this. I live near the coast so this has been a huge help for me keeping filament dry. I also recommend some vacuum bags to place your dried filament in once dry. ... show more

  • Great so far, but how you feed the filament is important
Size: Upgraded S2 Black
I like the full-info display so you can readily see status without pushing buttons (except to activate the backlight if in low light). it's also easy/intuitive to change settings if you want. Also if you're using it to feed the printer directly, as I do, in most cases you can orient the dryer so that the display/control panel is still readily accessible while in use feeding the printer. With some other ones I looked-at, I would have had to position them (for feeding to the printer) in a way that the controls and display would be hidden. IMPORTANT NOTE ON FILAMENT FEEDING (if using to feed the printer vs. just drying for storage): It's important that you feed the filament out either of the dryer's exit ports with the filament pulling from the TOP of the filament spool, not from the bottom. The instructions show a picture with filament being fed off the top, but they don't make it clear that's important. The reason is that the resistance to pulling the filament out is MUCH greater if the filament is feeding off the bottom of the spool as it sits in the dryer. This can put a lot more load on the extruder's puller and that's not great. It wouldn't seem like it would matter, but it does, because of how the rollers in the bottom of the dryer (that the spool rides-on) are set-up. ... show more
