  • Inexpensive Strings of Bliss
Color: Sunburst Style: HSS Pickup
The STRICH Electric Guitar Beginner Kit was much more fun than expected. This is instrument came with a beginners kit. After over fifty years playing guitar I really love this package for a beginner. The guitar is a blast. It sounds great and looks good too. Most of the people who try to learn guitar and find it impossible are trying to play an instrument that even Jimmy Page couldn’t play. The strings should not be three quarters of an inch above the fret board for example. The STRICH package is a great place to start playing. The guitar and things that come in the package are very nice. But what really surprised me was the tuner that came with the package. Its simple but it works great. Tuning the guitar is a treat to the ear and also you learn to play your guitar with the correct tension on the strings. Just as guitars start asking for thousands of dollars everywhere, I love to see the value priced guitars under two hundred dollars that will greatly help the beginner to learn the joys of playing guitar. I play this beginners guitar everyday and I am beginning to like it way more than I had expected. ... show more

  • Everything you need to start playing right away!
Color: Sunburst Style: HSS Pickup
The media could not be loaded. I'm not familiar with the Stritch brand of guitars but from the looks of this sub $200.00 kit it looks like a pretty solid way to get started. The kit comes with literally everything one might need to be playing in short order. The Stratocaster guitar delivers a slightly metallic sound thru the included mini amp, but that more than likely would be adjusted for properly by a full-size amp. Beyond that the amp is capable of delivering a good, clean (or dirty, if that's your preference) sound allowing a good range of tones. A five-location pick-up also adds to the controllability of the sound quality. The various accessories, a digital tuner, multiple extra strings, a capo, an (I believe) 10' cable for connecting the guitar to the amp, a guitar carrying case (with back-pack styled straps for ease of carrying around town) and a couple of optional whammy bars, as well as a shoulder strap and likely a few things I'd forgotten about come with this kit. They are all well-constructed, and nothing appears yo be cheap or poorly made. The amp won't deliver enough volume for you to use it in front of an audience, but plenty for hosting a sing along in your living room, jamming with friends or composing that next #3 on the Hit Parade. This is an EXCELLENT starter kit for a young person intent on getting their feet wet in the wonderful world of music. I recommend it. ... show more

  • Inexpensive But Surprisingly Good Beginner Kit
Color: Sunburst Style: HSS Pickup
Considering all that is included for the relatively inexpensive price, I wasn't really expecting much from this beginner set, but pleasantly surprised by the overall quality and playability of the guitar. Out of the box, the guitar I received is set up well enough that it provides a frustration free playing experience without requiring any additional set up work (other than tuning it). To get more into the weeds of it, I'll get more detailed with specific features and do have some minor issues that keep this from being a 5-star worthy kit. Frets and Fret Ends - Frets overall leveled nicely but could use some polishing as they feel a little gritty with bends. The fret ends are not cut you sharp, but you can definitely feel the edges when you run your hand down either side of the neck. Not too surprising considering the low price and always something that could be fairly easy fixed. Neck - I could not find a spec. on scale length so measured it and looks like 25.5. Neck has a satin finish. Guitar Hardware/Electronics - Obviously not as good as a more expensive guitar, but knobs/electronics on one I received all work as intended with no pots that cut out or sound scratchy when adjusting. The high E tuner does have a bit of an odd resistance at certain points on the rotation but still perfectly functional. Action/Setup - Pretty good straight out of the box. Plays nice overall with no dead frets. I do get a little bit of an unwanted sitar sound with the high E when played open. I'm sure it's not a fret level issue but haven't investigated yet whether it is a nut slot, saddle slot, or other issue. It's relatively minor anyway and does not affect playing. Finish - There are a few areas on the back where there are smudges or paint imperfections under the topcoat along with a few small divots in various areas of the guitar, so not perfect, but hard to notice and totally acceptable for the price of the kit. Guitar Amp and other accessories - The included clip-on tuner works well. The gig bag, strap, and other accessories, while basic, are perfectly adequate for a beginner kit. The one exception is the amplifier. I'm not very impressed with the sound quality coming from it and the crunch/distortion is especially unpleasant. It works to get started, but I think anyone using it will quickly determine they need something better. Strich sells the amp separately for around $35... no way I would pay that price for this amp. I have other small amps in the same price range that sound better. FYI - Another thing to mention is I don't think my kit came with the guitar picks. I searched the area where I opened the box and checked to make sure they weren't inside the box or taped to the packaging but found nothing. I see other review images that also don't show picks, so maybe not isolated to just my order. Overall, a great beginner kit. Assuming all the guitars in this kit arrive with similar quality of build and setup, I have no hesitation recommending it. ... show more

  • An Awesome Beginners Guitar Kit
Color: Sunburst Style: HSS Pickup
I absolutely love this beginners guitar kit. When I was a teenager I was a singer in a band and I played a little but eventually I stopped. I had an older guitar and large amp that I carried with me for years and years that I eventually got rid of because we needed the space and I didn't really play it anymore. This kit has rekindled my love of guitar. It truly has everything you need. I love the tuner that comes with it. Restringing and tuning my old guitar was always a pain in the butt back then. All in all, I can't recommend this enough. Super, Highly Recommended. ... show more

  • comes with everything you need
Color: Sapphire Blue Style: HSS Pickup
I’ve always wanted to try playing the guitar, so when I saw the STRICH Electric Guitar Beginner Kit, I thought it was the perfect opportunity, especially with the great price. The kit comes with everything as advertised, which was really convenient. The guitar itself looks great, and the tuner was super easy to use. I just searched online to find the correct tones for each string, and tuning it was a breeze. I’m still a complete beginner, so I plan to take a few lessons and then see if I can continue learning online. Overall, I’m excited to get started and really happy with this kit ... show more
