I was worried about getting black dishes because of scratches, but we use them every night with dinner, and always need steak knives for our food, but the blade glides ride off of it. They're the prefect weight. Easy to handle and look like they are going to wash up beautifully. I bought them for the color (black and white kitchen), style, dishwasher safe, and microwave safe. Only 1 blemish on a large plate. Looks like it happened when the black was being added. It isn't a normal scratch or gauge, just a 'defect' during production. The stoneware comes with this guarantee, so I'm going to call and see if i can get a replacement plate. Or if they have a suggestion on fixing it. I'm more somewhat concerned on how this will affect it going thru microwaving and the dishwasher. I'll do an edit as soon as I am able to talk with customer service at Stone Lain. Nice heavy stone plates. They are beautiful and functional. I especially like the little lip on the edges so any juices or sauces don't end up off the plate. Havent had any problem cleaning them and they have done fine in the dishwasher. They do get warm after microwaving but if you use a mitt it's not a big deal. ... show more
