Stone by Mercer Project HEKONDA Deboss Collection is composed of stoneware dishes, which have an organic round shape and uneven surfaces. The collection gives an earthy and rustic feel to your table setting. The set includes salad plates (8.8-inch), dinner plates (11-inch), bowls (20 fl.oz) and cups (10 fl.oz). Despite being difficult to stack, the pieces give a handmade illusion and will beautify your tablescape. HEKONDA is both microwave and dishwasher safe for convenience but should still be handle with care. Complement this set with table accessories such as a tablecloth, placemats or chargers to protect the surfaces as the bottom of the collection is unglazed. The HEKONDA Deboss version standout from the regular HEKONDA version by the deboss quote at the bottom of each piece, the denser and heavier feel and the reactive glaze. The glaze gives each piece a unique look, there can be some color variation within the same set due to the glaze's reaction to the firing heat. I love these plates and their uniqueness & it stops there. I read a lot of reviews about stacking issues in cupboards which I decided was not a deal breaker for me for purchasing. The bowls and mugs do take up more space because they don't stack. I wish pieces were sold separately because I really didn't want the mugs. The mugs look cool, but when you put hot coffee in them, you cannot hold the mug because there is not "handle" and the mug is too hot to touch. The BIGGEST issue I have: the dinner plates are 11" diameter which causes a problem for my dishwasher. The sprayer that is under the top rack, doesn't fully spin around because it hits the dinner plates and therefore my top rack dishes do not get cleaned properly. Luckily I have an LG dishwasher with an adjustable top rack that can be raised up. I am so sorry I wasn't able to test this out immediately after purchasing. We've been remodeling and we just got moved back into the kitchen and using the dishwasher for the first few times and have discovered this problem. For as expensive as these place settings are, one would think they would be a standard size to fit dishwashers. Another issue with the odd shapes of the bowls, they are also challenging for stacking in the dishwasher. As much as I love the color and the uniqueness of the place settings, I would not purchase again. I would absolutely love to be able to return these and get my money back because all of these issues. First of all I can’t believe how poorly the quality of these dishes are , they arrived chipped and dirty . They are very expensive so I expected much more . I do not recommend anyone getting these . Extremely disappointed

    • Great statement pieces, but not durable long-time

I spent months trying to find the perfect, unique dinnerware and I thought I had found it with these Mercer Project pieces. They are sturdy, beautiful, look great, can withstand the force of being dropped. I've had these for the last 6 months and I wanted to get some real use in before writing a review. If you want beautiful, long-lasting durable plates and bowls...these are not going to be your guys. The first issue is that they scratch incredibly easy. If you're very careful with the way you eat or never actually cut your food on the plate or in the bowl then you can avoid scratches, however regular use - these are getting scratched up unless you eat incredibly delicately. And again, if you're simply using a fork to cut an egg in half with your breakfast...you're scratching these. If you're cutting a piece of meat...you're scratching these. And the scratches are very visible and ruin the look of the dinnerware. Secondly, because they are stone this dinnerware is LOUD against silverware. If you're sensitive to the noise of scraping then you'll hate having these. This isn't your typical silverware noise, it's a lot more 'nails against a chalkboard' kind of scraping sound because of the stoneware. I've worked in the food and bev industry in restaurants for year and I personally didn't think it would be that bad based on other reviews I saw. However, the scraping of silverware against this stoneware (when I'm using it, not when someone else) does make me uncomfortable. I've seen other reviews mention that because the plates don't have a lip that sauces can run off the plate, which can be true, but I'm just aware of how I place and plate food and avoid that issue. Overall, these are gorgeous and look so freaking good, but they're not designed to last except as showpieces or something you're very careful using when you eat - and good food should not be enjoyed cautiously for fear of scratching dinnerware. If you're really set on getting these, you've been warned. But I would look elsewhere if you have the option. I'm currently shopping for new dinnerware. ... show more

I love them! The only issue that I have is the silverware falling off of the plate almost every use. My husband has both that and some of his food falling off of them. I have asymmetrical mirrors all over my home so these fit right in to my kitchen decor. If not for falling forks, I'd have given 5 stars. ... show more
