I love everything about it just remember that the people giving bad reviews are trying to do more then it is intended for. This is a perfect little welder for travel keep it in the RV or at home for diy projects you can take it anywhere plus side for big RV we have 30 to 50 amp if you have an onboard Onan generator your set up to weld on the road. For 59 bucks your first fix it project will pay for itself. My first project was some railing repair. The railing of course was cemented in a stairway and couldn't be moved. But, with this welder ( and a heavy duty extension cord) it was a breeze. This welder will surprise you, it's smaller than my lunch box...lol. That railing repair alone would have cost 3 times what I paid for the welder, mask and 5 lbs. of 6013 rod. Plus, it fits INSIDE of my toolbox, where it can be locked up....bonus!!!! Highly recommend this if you need a low cost, effective arc welder. ... show more

Put together per instructions and purchased “Recommended “ size rods. 3/32” E-6011. Needed to weld a 3/4” steel rod inside a 3/8” thick plate. I was out of tri-mix gas for my Miller mig and was not going to even try the flux core wire so, I thought to myself it was time to give the little micro arc welder a go. I set the 3/4” rod approximately 3/16” shy of being flush with the bottom of the plate for the weld to have good penetration. I got some scrap plate and set the machine on 70. Welded a small bead and then set it to 90 and did the same. Still just a little cold so I went to 95 and hit the sweet spot. I welded around the rod slowly so it would burn in and penetrate the outer perimeter nicely. When I finished and chipped the slag off I was absolutely amazed. The bead was just as good as any Full size welder I’ve ever used. Granted it wasn’t a 20” long weld or, running 15 rods without stopping. It did allow me to finish a job without going to swap tanks on the mig. 1 hr time saved and $80 still in my pocket. Is this welder a Miller ? No it’s not but for the money it cost it did an outstanding job. I’ve been welding for over 30 years and I’ve learned a lot over time. After reading some of the less than stellar reviews I decided to try it myself. First off if your not an experienced welder your results will vary. The penetration and “pretty” stacked dimes beads are not gonna happen on the first try or, second. Practice makes perfect and setting the amperage for the size material your welding is crucial. Set the controls on same thickness scrap metal and fine tune before you ever start on the actual work piece. Take your time and, watch your puddle. Slow down and “see” your weld as your welding. Distance from tip of rod to surface of work piece is important to. There is no written rule or law that says, you can’t make 2 or more passes to fill and penetrate. I know that sometimes you actually get a defective product and that’s just how it is and, it is with anything you purchase. This welder is perfect for first time users and hobby work. Summary, this is a Small job welder that absolutely delivers great results. Follow manufacturers recommendations and allow proper cool down as it’s not a $2000 + machine. Mine may break the next time I use it but the results I got out of this little machine were amazing. If it ever does break on me I will definitely order another one that same day. ... show more

I bought this on a whim, thinking it may come in handy on my land. It handles 3/32 7018 Hobart rods like a champ! The arc is very stable, and I never had an issue with duty cycle issues. I ran it on a 50’ 10 ga extension cord.

My husband is putting together a 20 foot long steel gate from scratch. The driveway gate has 52 steel bars that has to be stick- welded in. This little welder is so easy to handle and uses 120 current. Happy with the price and quality of this little welding machine.

I'll preface this by saying that I'm not a professional welder or professional anything really when it comes to DIY projects, but I do live by the motto - hey, how difficult can it be? Until recently, I had no welding experience to speak of. However, as a reasonably passionate DIYer, I've always been intrigued by the world of welding and its potential applications for my home projects. Enter the GUOZHI Stick Welder. First things first, I was pleasantly surprised by how lightweight this unit is. I've seen welding setups before that look like they weigh a ton, but this one? I can easily carry it from my garage to the backyard or even take it over to a friend's house without breaking a sweat. it literally fits in the palm of your hand. Now, I didn't tackle any massive projects, but for the smaller welding tasks around the house – fixing a broken metal chair leg, joining some garden tools, creating custom wall brackets – it's been nothing short of amazing. The arc is stable, and once I got the hang of it (thanks to some online YouTube tutorials), I found the welds to be clean and strong. As a newbie, I appreciated how intuitive the controls were. There's a power switch and a dial to specify amps. The user manual was clear and short enough that I actually read it. One thing that took a little research was figuring out what electrode sticks to use. I went with Amazon's "people frequently buy these items" along with this welder, and it worked out fine. Another thing to keep in mind is that you should do a little research to understand how to set up your leads so the polarity is right. That's a decision you'll need to make if you don't end up using electrodes that will do either polarity. I used Forney 31101 E6011 Welding Rods to repair a broken bracket on my reclining couch and they worked great. In conclusion, if you want a learn a new skill and are looking to dip your toes into the world of welding without a hefty investment or a steep learning curve, the GUOZHI Stick Welder is a fantastic choice.
