    • Excellent Budget Prebuilt Gaming PC
Out of all the STGAubron computers on Amazon, this is the best one available under $500. First off, the 1TB of memory is great at this price point. The Processor, an Intel i3-10100F, is much newer and more powerful than the i7-4770 that come with most of their other builds. For those that don't know, the numbers immediately the i3 or i7 indicate the processor generation; in this case, you're comparing a 2-3 year old 10th Gen i3 to a 12 year old 4th Gen i7. The Super 1660 Graphics card is also an upgrade compared to the Radeon RX580 in most of their other builds. I bought this for my son for Christmas as an upgrade for his old gaming laptop, and we are blown away. It looks good, it's quiet, and the performance is very impressive. The peripherals are adequate and about what you'd expect for free stuff; honestly they could have left them out and this PC would still be one of the best deals on Amazon. They aren't wireless but they look cool and function fine. The Keyboard is very "clicky". Wifi works ok with the included USB adaptor, we're getting 220mb per second download speed with the router on the opposite end of the house. The housing will make future upgrades easy as well. This is not a high end computer, but for the cost it doesn't get much better, even if you build one yourself. I highly recommend it. ... show more

PROS: 1) It looked nice. The clear, uncluttered case with the lit fans was very aesthetically pleasing. The fan covers had easily removable magnetic screens for easy cleaning. CONS: 1) It Didn't Work: After setting up and installing windows updates, the machine failed on first use. Within a couple minutes of starting to play a game the entire system froze and needed to be shut off by the power button. Upon restart the video card was not recognized and the on-board video was failing as well with constant graphical errors even when sitting idle at the desktop without running any apps. This happened every time a game was played, trying multiple different games. Sometimes the graphics card would come online again and the machine would operate normally while not running any apps, but any time you attempt to play a game the machine would freeze and upon reboot the video would revert to on-board video with graphical errors. 2) The included power cable was very short. I had to place the surge protector on top of the desk, right by the tower. Not a real complaint because this is a very inexpensive PC, just mildly frustrating in my opinion. If the machine had not failed, I would have just replaced it with a longer one. 3) The wifi adapter was an external USB nano plug for laptops. Again, I understand it's a very inexpensive machine so this is just a personal preference on my part. It functioned fine for the few minutes that the machine was in use before failing, I just prefer a different type of wifi adapter. If the machine had not failed I would have just replaced it with something different. Overall, I wanted to like this machine. It looked nice and was budget friendly. My 17 yo daughter wanted a gaming set up and as a single parent I was on a budget. After spending countless hours researching the type of specs that were necessary to play the kind of games she does, I continued my search throughout the internet for an affordable option. Although hesitant to purchase from Amazon in case we ran into any issues or it needed to be returned, I took a risk after reading reviews on Amazon, YouTube and other sources. Arrival: It arrived in a huge box, upon opening there was the setup encased in another box and some filler paper. I opened up the setup and it was packaged to my satisfaction. Everything came in their own little boxes and the tower even had foam inside to prevent any small pieces from breaking during transport. It came with all the extras as guaranteed. Set up: I’m tech friendly enough to configure setup, but it was pretty simple to me that I believe a non experienced person can do it as instructions were printed on the tower where/where not to plug the components. Everything was included (minus the monitor) and I was able to connect the monitor, mouse and speaker for use. Use of setup: The tower is very nice when the lights are turned on and you can even control the colors with an included remote. Some things to consider is the tower includes USB components for Bluetooth and WiFi, I knew this upon purchasing. I personally didn’t have trouble with either and the computer connected to our WiFi just fine. I wasn’t too worried in case by chance it didn’t because I had an Ethernet cable on hand but thankfully it wasn’t necessary. This computer is not meant to be upgraded to Windows 11, I also knew this before purchasing. I figured for the price I couldn’t complain and can do any part upgrades needed in a year or two. No problems running Windows so far. Overall: My daughter is happy so in turn I am happy. We’ve only had the setup for two weeks and so far no problems, I hope this is continuous.
