First the 'downside': The parts lists shows item K, but, this is NOT a part, only a tool (of which I didn't use) and it had part P, stuck inside, of which, I wasted time trying to figure out how to use it. The answer came when it fell on the floor and part P came loose (an extra part for locking the wheel on the shaft). I used a rubber mallet, not hammer, and a ratchet screwdriver with a good handle, which made putting the 'dashboard' easier to put on as there isn't any pre-drilled holes to start the screws and also the screws for the seat belts (the belts are on backwards on this car?) are very long and would be difficult to screw in using a normal screwdriver, especially if one has trouble using their hands. The front wheel came off and we had a hard time to get my grandchild to get out of the car to fix it, which was an easy fix. The handle, of which was my main reason to buy this toy, does fold down, but, if you want to remove it, you will need a wrench (open-end is best) and a pair of pliers to loosen the nut and then you pull out the long bolt, the downside is that to replace it, you have to line up the four holes once again, which is a pain; this handle should be made to quicK disconnect for ease (WAKE-UP STEP TWO) of taking off and putting back on again. I made a copy of the parts lists as I got fed up with flipping the paper over trying to figure out what I was suppose to do, and this made it easier for me. The only toy for my grandchild to play with while he is in the seat is the steering wheel (the horn didn't get him excited at all) and he kept trying to raise the 'trunk' as they call it in front, but sitting down in the car, he couldn't do it and almost broke the lid trying (another wake-up call for STEP TWO; we need more gadgets to amuse the child while they are in the seat). The good: my grandson loved it and I enjoyed being able to push him around the yard without breaking my back bending down. It looks wonderful but because there isn't anything for a child to play with besides the steering wheel, I only gave it four stars. It is too bad that toy manufacturers don't ask the parents/grandparents what they would like to have on these toys; I guess that they themselves don't have any children to learn from. The construction seems to be sturdy enough, but I am not too sure about those wheels, the only part that came from China, as they feel flimsy. I didn't use the seatbelt, but when my wife started to push the car, our grandson, reached down and tried to put them on himself (he is 20 months). Yep, he has been in her car so I guess he knows best. There is a lot of room inside, of which I am happy as the cold air is coming in and he will be able to wear heavy clothes while I am pushing him outside and this should be usable as a push-toy for a few years and of course his parents can remove the handle when he does get too big to fit inside. My only regret: not finding this car sooner in the year. We purchased this for our 13 month old on the advice of another parent, and boy were they right. (UPDATE: Now using it for the same child at 3.5 years old, and we have only had to remove the steering wheel to give him extra leg room, otherwise it's still going strong! My son is big for his age too). I would second their advice and not wait for the 18 month mark as our little guy is obsessed with this car. The seating area is tighter than the race car shopping carts at our local stores so this is probably for the smaller guys anyway. My husband had it assembled in ten minutes and I didn't hear any griping so that's always a good sign. Cup holder does fit a bottled beer but the holder swings so when you go down an incline or over some tall grass, the beer will flip forward from the swinging momentum and thus spill forward, AKA it is not really functional for an opened bottle. Cans of beer fit fine (coozies don't fit though). The cup holder does fit my iPhone as well as some keys and other small items if I line it with a paper towel first (there are holes cut into the bottom of the holder). It also holds a small bottle of water (with the cap on it) quite well (the slender 16.9 oz bottle of Dasani for instance). The lack of a shade is pretty awful, as trying to get our little guy to wear a hat can be a battle. So I ordered about 5 umbrellas of varying sizes on Amazon and we ended up with the Versa Brella by Sport Brella in red and then after the red one broke we ordered blue. Both looked fine and tied well with the color of the car. The Versa Brella angles in several different ways thanks to the jointed stem. We attached it to the very end of the handle (that is closest to our bodies/hands when we push) and it doesn't really interfere with the cupholder that much. The clamp does affix nicely around the thick plastic of the Whisper Ride. The Versa Brella can be swiveled very easily so when we make turns in the 'hood, I simply swing the longer edge of the umbrella towards the sun and we get about another 3" of coverage for the little guy. I just wish this umbrella had vents though, as on a windy day (15 MPH gusts) it bucks and bows. Overall it's a necessity to have the umbrella in the Florida sun!! Trunk provides pretty decent amount of space, we have had two diapers, a travel pack of wipes, a paci, a change of clothes, a sun hat and a small ziplock full of snacks crammed into it and it still closed. There are holes in the floorboard of this car so you can hose it out if need be. There are two cup holders in the car for the rider, but they didn't fit our snack cups or sippy cups well. So in them we rigged thick coozies lined with thin plastic cups and we use one for snacks and the other to hold the sippy cup The coozie "holds" or grips onto the plastic cup and prevents spills. The wheels do not turn but I just push down on the handle, thus lifting up the front wheels and swivel the car in the direction that I need it to go. I am 5'9" and my husband is 6' and we don't have any issues pushing this. Sure an inch or two on the handle would be great but I understand this product needs to accommodate everyone. This has been a great addition to our outdoor time. The little guy loves for us to "pull over" so he can push in sprinkler heads, pick up rocks or touch the mailboxes, etc. He will even sit in it while it's parked in our driveway and allow me to get some raking, etc. done while he snacks. We have gotten this into Disney on several occasions but a few times have been told "really isn't allowed," although we always get in. It's a lot smaller than some of the huge double strollers people are pushing around and frankly it still falls within the size limits on Disney's website. It is not pulled like a wagon (wagons are not allowed into Disney parks) either. ***UPDATE 7/2015*** My son still loves this car. The toy is fun for the baby. However, the manual was all over the place. Had instructions where it had you do one thing and then once done you had to undo because the following step was supposed to be the first step. The parts are plastic and so they didn’t fit flush. You need your own tools so I recemos reading that before buying. Does not come with any padding for comfort. It is is stable and handles walks outside. The flower decals are cute but not sure why the cup holder by the handle is yellow and not matching of the pink or purple from the rest of the car. My brother gifted this to my son for his 1st bday and he loves it. Its fun to take him on walks around the block or up and down the driveway. It also puts my son to sleep so after a walk hes ready for a nap. Its very light and easy to push. It doesnt turn left or right so you have to tilt the car using the hadle to turn it and that is also very easy and light to do. I look forward to taking my son to the beach with it this summer.
