  • Makes everything so much easier
Style: EngineEar II
This microphone just makes everything easy. The old screw driver truck works fine but it’s a lot better when you can isolate noises with the earphones.

  • Received broken
Style: EngineEar I
I received this broken with the mic part totally disconnected and not functional. Returned the item. Not worth the price. Purchased a cheaper one which worked and did exactly the same thing as this one and didn’t come broken

  • Awesome!
Style: EngineEar I
Had an A/C leak at the compressor and was about to order a new compressor. Then, I bought this and found it was leaking from a high pressure bleed off valve on the hose at the back. This located it exactly, using it without the metal rod, just the rubber opening. You can isolate air leaks! You could probably find the leak in a tire if the leak was big enough to make any sound at all. You do need a quite few minutes because it picks up any sound in the air without the metal rod inserted. ... show more

  • This thing is pretty sweet looking
This thing is pretty sweet looking, but does it work? I put it to the test and this is what I have to say. The earphones just don't fit my floppy ears. They just cant cover enough of my flesh to get the noise canceled out. With that said, that is why it gets 4 stars. Read on though. After I chucked the earphones in the garbage, I busted out a regular pair of in the ear earbuds and plugged them in. Now if you have ever used a mechanics stethoscope and endured the pain of those in the ear, then get this baby. With the earbuds in and this microphone thing roaming the inside of a vehicle with a pesky little rumble in the rear quarter panel. It performed pretty darn well and put me onto the wheel bearing in just a few seconds of driving. oh those subtle noises are a pain but this seemed to make it easier even if I was only using half the product. I would also recommend getting some microphone foam and taping it on if you aren't using the metal attachment. Would help filter a little more noise out. ... show more

  • It works pretty good
Style: EngineEar II
So first impressios, it came nicely packaged but when opening and inspecting the device i found that it was already a little damaged. The dial cover fell off. After gluing it back on i tested the operation. It operates very well and immediately helped me with a diagnosis that we had beem having trouble finding (a noise in the engine bay). All in all i would buy it again and recommend it for professional technicians. ... show more

  • Good tool! Great tool for locating leaks
Good product! I bought these to help with the diagnoses of a high pressure oil system leak in my 05' f250. They did help with the diagnoses, however my set malfunction from time to time. I kept them because I really only needed them for this one task and they preformed well. The only problem I have with mine was the volume. I could turn them on and the volume adjustment worked fine, turn them off, then go to use them again and dang near blow my ear drum out. My neighbors probably had a few good laughs and must have wondered what the heck was up with the guy next door! (I couldn't rip them off my head fast enough) this only happened a couple times before I got smart enough to start powering them on prior to putting them on. This malfunction seemed to happen 50% of the time. I was always able cycle the power on and off and they would begin to operate as expected. ... show more

  • not bad for the money
Style: EngineEar II
It seems to work as it should, but headphones could be bigger, don't fit the best, could use some improvement, still happy with the unit, that's why I'm giving it a 4 star.
