  • Not good
Not comfortable when I’m playing. Also the screws holing everything in place don’t seem to really hold it. Beaters keep sliding down won’t stay in place. Also the first one I ordered was missing pieces and was broken. And no instructions are included. This was my first double bass pedal so it left me confused. ... show more

  • Great framework
Impressed with the hardware, the petals are made out of nice thick metal framework, none of that flimsy crap

  • Uncomfortable
I noticed quite a few reviews noting how "stellar" of a pedal this is...and while I wish I could say the same, my experience with it has been bittersweet. I have been using this since January 2023 and it was my very first ever double bass pedal. The first con is that it arrived with no instructions whatsoever, leaving me in the dark with how to set it up. Some double-bass pedal tutorials I found online helped tremendously, however. Upon setting it up and adjusting it to my liking, it felt very uncomfortable and impossible to play and maintain quick double bass patterns for very long. At times, it feels as though it's working against me. Wearing shoes/boots helps slightly--but the experience is still VERY draining. Even in spite of the super loose spring tension, it still feels like a chore to play with. Using TAMA Iron Cobras have been a monumentally better experience than using these--but I am still happy to have had my very first double bass pedal experience with these, even if may not have been ideal. Overall, I would NOT recommend. ... show more

  • My first double pedal set
I'm probably not experienced enough of a drummer to warrant getting a double pedal yet, but they just look like so much fun, I have been wanting to try it out for some time now. As such, I'm no expert in what makes a good or bad set, so I'll just give my impressions here--take them for what they are worth. 1) The beaters are harder than I'm used to. The single-pedal beater that I was using was a softer felt that gave a more gentle "thud" than these beaters do. It isn't bad, but it does change the sound quality a bit. It does appear that one could easily take the beaters out and replace them with something else. 2) I wish the shaft was a bit longer. When I get the pedal where it is comfortable and doesn't interfere too much with my hi-hat pedal, the shaft is at its very most extended position. If I tried to go any longer, it would fall out. This works, but with no room to spare and that could be a problem, so -1 star. 3) There is velcro on the bottom of the left pedal which sticks furiously to my carpet, so it's perfect for me but I have a very low-pile carpet. Not sure how it would do with a shaggier carpet and I'm certain it would be a big problem for a hard floor. 4) There were 0 instructions of any kind, so I just had to figure out how to get it together. That wouldn't have been any kind of problem, except somehow the left pedal and chain had gotten twisted and rotated so that it almost looked right, but was backward and it took me a while to figure out how to get it oriented correctly again. I'm assuming that was a fluke, but... (shrug) 5) Both pedals feel balanced and I can adjust the tensions independently to get the feel dialed in just the way I like Very happy with this set. As noted, I think the shaft should be a bit longer, but other than that, I don't know what I would do to improve on it. ... show more

  • Assembled incorrectly
Pedal came assembled backwards. My husband had to take it all a part and assemble it back properly himself.

  • Epic Fail
Opened the box and there were no instructions on how to set it up. Okay, no problem, I can figure it out I say. Upon closer inspection, I notice the chain for the main beater is routed the wrong way. Hmm okay.. maybe I can salvage this, I really want to play drums today. Upon even closer inspection I notice what looks like some wear and tear as if this was previously owned. Yeah thats gonna be a no from me dawg ... show more

  • Don’t listen to bad reviews. Great pedal, esp if you purchase the model with solid base plates.
First and foremost: this is a $139 double kick pedal. That price point is insane, especially with all the garbage pedals scattered throughout Amazon land. If you’re hoping it’s as smooth as a $750 double pedal, the issue is more likely your expectations than the product itself. This is a steal. It should be well over $250. The bad reviews I’ve read on here so far are - 1 star because you only have two weeks to return it??? How is that worth ONE star? - 3 stars because the slave pedal doesn’t respond identically to the main pedal. More legit of a critique, but I have yet to come across a double bass pedal where the slave and main pedal respond identically. Maybe a DW 9000? If you want pedals that respond identically, you should use two single pedals with two kick drums. No other way around it. Now, my review. I really like this pedal. It’s solid (again, I have the model with the solid plates under the pedal, not the cheap steel rods - I don’t recommend those, regardless the brand) and the beaters are quality. They’ve held up quite well over the last six months or so, and sound great. Not as beefy as the DW beaters, but still have good, predictable response. The pedal actually feels like a DW 5000 circa mid-90’s. It has double chain drive action so it’s easier to draw extra power out of the head, and the action on the slave pedal is great, especially once you dial it in. ***Pro tip! Dialing in your pedal spring tension is not hard! Angle the cam so the beater is roughly 45 degrees, then set the spring tension about halfway up the tension rod. Give the pedal a few good presses, and ask yourself: is it too sluggish, or too out of control? If it’s too slow and clumsy, tighten the tension nuts a couple of turns then try again. If too unresponsive and tight, loosen the nuts a couple turns and try again. Do this for both pedals. Chances are if you spend ten minutes doing this you will find sweet spots for both pedals, and conclude that this pedal is the best option you will ever find at this price point, unless you stumble upon a hidden gem at a pawn shop somewhere. And if you don’t like the pedal, sounds like you have two weeks to return it! So act fast! 😂 ... show more
