  • graphite impregnated fiberglass rope seal and high temp cement gasket kit
Size: 3/4" x 84" Rope
Graphite impregnated fiberglass rope seal and high temp cement gasket kit. Husband says the glue had a hole in it. He didn't need the glue - but it was useless had he needed it. Eh. So the gasket works as it should for his use. Having said all of this, I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful. All of my reviews reflect my honest, personal experience with the reviewed item - your experience may be different. I am not influenced by any outside source. I receive/accept NO free products or discounts that are not available to all shoppers- ever. For some reason our shopper ranks are no longer visible - so, to give you a little more info about me, I am a top 50 reviewer (#30 the highest rank achieved). Those numbers used to fluctuate over time - up and down but I noticed that they stopped updating regularly - perhaps to phase them out. It's a shame because it did help you see who has been around the longest and who is a trustworthy reviewer. I've been doing reviews for over 25 years with Amazon - nearly 6,000 reviews posted, viewed over 50,000 times, and over 24,000 likes. I pay for all my stuff, just like you do. ... show more

  • Don’t buy
Size: 5/8" x 84" Rope
Rope is fine but cement doesn’t come out of the tube.

  • Bad glue tube but rope is nice
Size: 3/4" x 84" Rope
The rope is nice and easy to trim after glueing the rope in position. I watched a YouTube presentation of someone replacing a rope and this really helped. The only reason that I give this four stars is because the glue tube actually broke open. The tube is way too thin in order to kneed the glue out of the tube. It is also very thick and had a hard time coming out of the tube. After cracking the tube I put it on a paper towel and just squeezed hard and used a paint brush to apply the glue to the area where the rope was to go. In thin application the glue also dries very quickly. It was fine to use a paintbrush and just know that I would throw the paint brush away. It helped it application. Kind of a waste since I had to throw the glue away but it was fine because I knew I wouldn't need it again. The Rope is still glued in place so I guess it was enough. ... show more

  • Poor quality adhesive
Size: 1/4" x 84" Rope
The rope gasket material was fine. The issue was the adhesive. Could not get the adhesive to flow out the nozzle, no matter how much of the applicator tip I cut off. At first only liquid came out of the tube. I needed the tube to attempt to mix the liquid with the adhesive, no luck. Ended up removing the tip and applied with a gloved finger. There were also cure adhesive in the tube. ... show more

  • Gasket was fine but adhesive was worse than useless.
Size: 3/4" x 84" Rope
The gasket supplied was exactly what I expected / wanted. The supplied adhesive was worse than useless: No instructions on the tube or in the box. Sure "it's just glue who needs instructions?" Well, there's surface preparation, product preparation, setup (open) time, cure time, special curing steps, preparation steps, and last but not least - CLEANUP. After reading other user comments and visiting the manufacturers web site I thought I had enough information to proceed. I kneaded the tube to mix the contents, trimmed the spout and opened the tube. Nothing comes out; I found a plug of partially cured silicone blocking the neck, cleared the plug and started over. Now it does come out - in spurts and globs. Wipe up, start over. More kneading, more fiddling etc. I tried spreading the globs with my (wet) fingertip but the globs of silicone just slid around and stained my fingers black (no cleanup instructions). I basically spent about 2-hours and was no further ahead than when I started. Plus, it looks like I'll have to live with black fingertips for a couple days. A tube of Name Brand high temperature silicone from the local hardware store did the trick with no problems and took approximately 15-minutes to install. My suggestion: By all means use the gaskets, they appear to be high quality and are easy to work with BUT buy the bare gasket and some name brand adhesive to install it with. Hope this helps, Cheers ... show more

  • A must for sealing a wood stove door
Size: 5/8" x 84" Rope
I have an old wood stove that required 1/2 inch rope on the hinge half and this 5/8 inch rope on the handle half to seal adequately. Haven't burned yet but it looks better than before with just the old 1/2 inch rope.

  • Just okay
Size: 1/4" x 84" Rope
This item came with a nozzle for the tube of adhesive mortar but the nozzle did not fit, I’m not sure why it was included as it was a completely different size. I applied the mortar and measured the gasket to fit. After assembly, I wanted about 12 hours before reattaching the stove doors. The gasket didn’t appear to have much flexibility to it and the doors would not fully close. Not sure what the problem was. I ended up cutting out a length of the gasket on one door to get a better seal. I am not very satisfied with the product but I am not sure what is attributed to user error or the product as this was my first time installing a gasket on a wood stove. The product came with no instructions and the tube of adhesive had really no info on it. I mixed it by massaging the tube before opening but it still came out clumpy and really wouldn’t stick to the stove door. I ended up using the corner of a paint stirring stick to apply it throughout the channels on both doors. At this point I will need to purchase a new gasket and adhesive. I will most likely not purchase from this company again. ... show more

  • Adhesive was no good****
Size: 5/8" x 84" Rope
The adhesive was no good. All dried up. I had to order a tube of Hi Temp silicone to mount the rope gasket. The gasket was solid, and strong. It fit the Drolet Wood Stove like a glove.
