Description

The first instruments to bear the Squier name were introduced in 1982, answering the call for genuine Fender designs at accessible prices. The Squier 40th Anniversary collection celebrates the 40-year journey of Fender’s entry- level brand with special editions of the Telecaster, Stratocaster, Jazzmaster, Precision Bass, and Jazz Bass, all available in Gold Edition and Vintage Edition variants. The Squier 40th Anniversary Telecaster, Vintage Edition is a soulful tribute model trimmed with a collection of classic features for the retro-minded Squier enthusiast. Featuring aged chrome hardware, an anodized aluminum pickguard, a vintage-tinted maple neck, an engraved anniversary neck plate and satin finish throughout, this Tele honors the heritage of the Squier catalog and its ancestry. Player-friendly refinements of this commemorative model include a slim and comfortable “C”-shaped neck profile for an easy playing feel, vintage-style tuning machines and 3-saddle string-through-body bridge for authentic performance and style, and Fender-Designed single-coil pickups with alnico 5 magnets for familiar Tele tone.

  • Great telecaster...sounds and looks amazing!
Color: Satin Dakota Red
The media could not be loaded. This red and black tele from Squire is exactly what I was looking for. The fit and finish is spot on. I took it into get a full setup, but the tech said it was so close already he only charged me half price. I put a set of 10s on it and it feels and plays great. I love that I can play many different types/sounds of music with just one guitar. The satin neck is very comfortable. ... show more

  • You can make this guitar as good as an MX or American Tele
Color: Satin Dakota Red
First is it perfect out of the box, nope. Did I buy it for $328...yep...did I buy my American Performer Satin for $1399, yep....did I buy my MX player plus for $1099, yep...so here's the think. Grab a $14 wilkenson compensated saddle kit, buy a stewmac fret file...the one with the rounded side bevel. Put in about an hour rounding frets, installing the bridge, give the truss rod a slight tweak...oh buy a set of music nomad files and give the nut a quick file clean up...and your all set to get the action low. I swapped the tuners for a cheap set of locking tuners...and swapped the pickups ...all in I am still sub $500 and it plays every bit as good as even my American...but NOT my JV Modified Tele. If you want a god tier Tele, save your pennies and just grab a JV Modified. The Japanese quality is just soo much better...plus the V shape neck needs to be felt to really enjoy how great it is...the white tele ... show more

  • Fair fit and finish
Color: Satin Vintage Blonde
Body must have been dropped before it was even bound as there is a bit of a flat area by the Jack on the backside only. Well can’t see when playing and it does not affect the finish, bindng or anything and had to have been done when it was a bare body blank. Very minor really. The neck was a great smooth, well fretted and flat, none raised no sharp edges. Feels very smooth on the backside. Actually a nicer neck than my Fender Player Telecaster. Actually I set Jack port is pretty cheap and my 90 degree cable will not seat into it as it is too deep into the body so the Jack itself is a little too short. Straight side of the cord plugs in fine as does my wireless transmitter. String action was set really high from factory but a general setup too care of that. Got it for about 285 so all things considered it’s more than I expected for the money and plays fine. ... show more

  • Terrible guitar
Color: Sherwood Green Metallic
This guitar is a absolutely beautiful! But… it has problems 1. The pickups are terrible. Muddy at high volumes which is sad because I have to crank pots all the way to even get sound from this Telecaster 2. Will not stay in tune. This is the first guitar I have owned that will not stay in tune. I will play it then sit down for an hour pick it back up and it’s way off every time. 3. Don’t expect Fender level QC with these. Mine came with paint issues and bone nut offset. Cracked body where neck meets. Overall, I would have been better off spending the extra money to get a MIM Fender telecaster. ... show more

  • Gorgeous (and somewhat light) tele. Low output pickups, though
Color: Black
The images don't lie: this is a gorgeous tele and offers everything a quality tele can: 9.5in radius fretboard, slim, polished (albeit not deeply polished) frets, binding in the neck and wonderful inlays. Plays smoothly and beautifully. The downsides are: i) it needed set up off the box - truss rod was completely loose, action was sky high and neck pickup too low and; ii) pickups are very low output - even lower than my butterscotch 50s tele, so don't expect it to push your amp much. Overall, though, a great instrument! ... show more

  • Great guitar!
Color: Satin Vintage Blonde
I went ahead and got this based on reviews from other sites. Quality guitar with a great feel and action. Got this on a prime deal and it’s awesome for a $300 guitar. It’s better than some much more expensive guitars I’ve played.
