This safe is a great product and high quality! I used another safe by the same brand and decided to get this one because I have had good past experiences with this company and their products. The fingerprint and passcode setup is quick, easy, and accurate. In case of any errors, there is a physical key that you can use to unlock the safe, or if the battery runs out. So far the security box (not a safe that will withstand a brute force/crowbar attack) fits the bill perfectly. Love the fact that it is both AC powered as well as a battery backup. The fingerprint reader has been flawless, rigoursly tested over and over with multiple fingers set. This tucks away nicely and stays hidden until needed. I did have my doubts over the functionality of the fingerprint reader, but they were dispelled when it worked over and over. Not great for full sized red dot pistols, they won't fit. I'd buy this if I had little ones in the home or I was concerned about the immediate need if things went bump in the night. ... show more

It's good quality, and heavy. Easy to set up and works every time. The only complaint would be the mounting bracket and screws. You may want to modify and bolts for more security. Wish it came with two brackets for side and top mount, instead it's an all in one.

I am giving this case a 1 because of the mishaps I encountered. Granted, the mishaps were in part my fault as I did not fully understand the instructions and may I add, they weren't overly clear. The safe comes with a code of 1234 and accepts all fingerprints. I was under the impression that once you save a new code and new set of fingerprints the original setting was cleared. I think that is true for the code, but, that is not true for setting up a fingerprint. I tested my 8 digit code and it worked. I tested my fingerprint and it worked. I thought I was good and felt the testing I did was sufficient. My 5 year old grandson was around while I installed the case. When I was all done, I had work on car to do so I went out to do that. When I came in, my grandson told me he could open my new safe but that he didn't touch my gun. My heart sank. My night could have gone much different but by the grace of God it did not. I discovered that I only added my print to factory setting of allowing all prints. Had I tested another finger, I would have realized my error. So I held in button that clears all fingerprints and I resaved mine. I tested with several fingers and with several people. All seemed good. My grandson came over the next day and I asked him to try and open it again. He tried twice punching in numbers and ending each sequence with putting his finger on the reader thinking he needed to do that. On his 3rd try he happened to type in 1234 and the case opened. I was none too happy. Instructions say the reset button only wipes out fingerprints. They say to change the code you must save a new code. I never tested the code as I had a safe 8 digit code I set up. However, the reset button must have reset the code back to factory default of 1234 since that opened it. I entered saved my 8 digit code again. Having been stupid several times now I've tried several codes, several fingerprints, and asked several people to try and open it. I think I'm good now please God. I'm very mad at how this is all set up and thus gave a 1. The reason for this purchase was to have a gun handy but to keep family safe. This purchase almost cost me one of my greatest treasures, my grandson. The company needs to send this case clear of all fingerprints instead of allowing all prints, and they need to update instructions saying the master reset button will return code to 1234 as well as wipe out all fingerprints. I test this case periodically now. If the slightest issue comes up between now and 1/30/24 I will be sending it back. ... show more

it can be mounted onto a desk or bookshelf. it comes with a key. you can use the fingerprint or keypad. keypad can be 8 digits long. it's easy to add fingerprints and change the code if needed. comes with a hard foam insert to keep the pistol in place. Product seems great so far. Set up was easy and installation on nightstand took minutes. Seems to work great. I cut a little extra foam out to fit laser and flashlight attachment. Does the truck, easy access and a clean safe spot for storage.
