  • Sturdy Unit
Professional unit for certain. Make sure unit tilts in every direction you need.

  • Great swivel action without binding
Though a little pricey, the swivel action of this tripod head is fluid and smooth. It also comes with an insert in case your tripod has a smaller screw mount. It works great, you won't be disappointed! Get this one!

  • Good for what it does 👍
I bought this to replace the big, video, fluid head that came with the tripod I bought 2 years ago since I do alot of stuff with cel phones and occasionally a DSLR. The pan and tilt motion is very smooth, just like the bigger fluid heads. It has a tilt head feature to rotate your phone 90° going from landscape to portrait framing of your subject. The arca swiss plate is very convenient and to use. All knobs are easy to adjust and tighten up with ease. The reason for my 4 star rating is this: the head is back heavy because of the metal guide handle, thus even with nothing on it and the tilt knob loosened, it tilts upward. Also, the arca swiss plate that came with it is too short of a length to compensate it by moving the phone or camera forward. To achieve a good balance, you'd need to purchase a longer plate. The second reason for my 4 star rating is because the guide handle is fixed in just one position, it's unadjustable. More expensive fluid heads have the ability to move and adjust the handle to your liking, even switching from the left to the right side of the head, this does not... but yes, I knew that when I bought it. All in all, it's a wonderful smaller fluid head but with just a couple of minor discrepancies. If you don't mind a fixed left sided guide handle or needing a longer arca swiss plate, then this would be a welcomed addition to your tripod. Besides, it's a lot lighter and easier to carry around if you are just using smaller equipment (phone, camera). ... show more

  • Excellent quality, incredible value
I decided that I don't use my high-end, heavy tripod equipment enough, so i remedied that by buying a Sirui AM-284 carbon fiber tripod and this Soonpho tripod head. Both were great decisions. Not saying I'll get rid of my Gitzo G1548MK2 or various O'Connor fluid heads and video tripods. But for under a couple hundred bucks total, I now have a reasonable alternative that I can take on all trips and even carry up big mountains without dying from the weight. It's "good enough" for any photo equipment I'm willing to also carry. This head blows away a typical consumer ballhead for many purposes, and in my opinion is a good compromise between a prosumer ballhead and a prosumer fluid head. Ability to point it at the zenith is an added bonus for me, as I'm into astronomy, solar eclipse chasing, and plane spotting also. It's a steal, so it's also perfect for permanently or semi-permanently installing them in fixed locations for applications like Zoom home office, church service streamer, auditorium/venue filming or security cameras, etc. ... show more

  • Works Great Supporting Heavy Loads
Many ordinary tripod heads, after locking them down, will have a small amount of tilt movement if supporting one or more pounds of weight. This unwanted tilt movement makes it impossible to maintain focus on an object when using a moderate amount of magnification. I bought this tripod head because all of my other heads suffered from tilt movement after tightening and releasing the tilt head support knob. I decided to try this specific head because I wanted to support my 3.75 lb. spotting scope with it, and the product information says this head will support 18 kg. or 39.6 lbs. After using it for about a month, the tripod head locks down my spotting scope and doesn't move after I release my hand from the tilt head adjustment knob. The only reservation I have with the tripod head is that the handle is not adjustable. However, I am definitely pleased with the results and will probably purchase a second one in the near future. ... show more

  • Slight, but noticeable wobble is visible shooting videos.
I ultimately returned this tripod video head because there was a slight, but noticeable, wobble when panning while shooting videos. For me, shooting video requires precise 360 degree horizontal movements and fluid vertical movements as well in both directions. So, even slight movements wile shooting videos (when horizontal and/or vertical settings are unlocked) while panning during a video shoot is unacceptable. The particular unit I had suffered from this problem. Other similar units may not have this problem, so it may very well be isolated issue. Please note that this review relates to only the unit that I had. On the other hand, the tripod head appears to be well made and very sturdy with all the basic features and controls in the right place. The "panning" handle is just the right size and position so that it does not interfere while shooting. The precision in the particular unit I had, however, was not its strong suit. Your requirements may not be the same as mine. ... show more

  • Tripod Head
This is a great tripod head. It is a three way head, so you can postion your camera where you want it. The build quality seems to be fine and the cost is much less than other tripod heads.

  • Screw it to the body real tight.
People complain that the head will come loose with panning. But if you screw it on real tight to the body, it will not. Its like you have to use a tool to grab it right to tighten it as its hard to do it with just your hands. I've had other tripod heads I had to do this to also.
