Description

Solera Sliders by Lippert Components provide attractive and economical protection for all of your slide rooms. The Black Solera Slider attaches to both the slide room and the outside wall of the RV, creating a complete seal around the slide room. Dust, smoke, leaves, bugs and debris are blocked by the sleeve even when the slide room is retracted back into the RV. Solera Sliders are designed to fit many different rooms ranging in size from 56" to 188" in length and extend up to 50". Solera Sliders come complete with mounting hardware and awning rail. The hardware hole pattern is universal and will match most competitive brands, alleviating the need to patch holes. To order the correct Solera Slider, select the size that extends a minimum of 2 ½" beyond each side of your slide box width.

    • Don't bother - won't survive delivery.
I ordered this item twice and both times it arrived damaged beyond use. The first time, 1/3 of the tube was missing and the end bracket was damaged with the aluminum rail pinched shut for about 1 foot. The second item was delivered with one end of the shipping tube crushed and the mounting bracket bent over about 4 inches and was un-repairable. The shipping tube the manufacturer uses to package the awning is not strong enough to survive the retail shipping process, so if you do order one, make sure you are available when it is delivered to inspect the item before accepting it. ... show more

    • Not lasting.
I purchased the "Solera Black Slide Topper Awning - 13'6" (13'1" Fabric)" less than four months ago. Because I couldn't get to it right away, installation was probably only about three months ago. The best thing about this slide topper was the installation because my camper came with the mounting hardware preinstalled and ready to install this particular awning, and installing it exactly according to instructions was quick and easy. When completed, I felt a little uneasy about the amount of flex in the center of the 13.5 ft. roller but figured it to just be normal with a piece of aluminum of that length with spring loaded tension on it. Unfortunately, that flex in the center of the roller allows all of the pull/tension to be transferred to the outer edges of the fabric, specifically where it attaches to the camper. Today I went out to inspect the slide topper as we are preparing to hit the road with the camper, and I noticed that the fabric has begun to rip (at both ends) away from the hard plastic "rod" that is fed through the channel below the gutter, attaching the topper to the camper. The rips at both ends are currently only 3/8 of an inch long but I expect them to spread. They need to do something to reinforce these areas. ... show more

Here’s what lippert fails to mention. The self tapping screws are only good for an alloy structure. If you fail to secure it into an alloy behind the fiberglass it will not secure properly. If you’re following the manufacturer’s recommendations on where to mount it, you might not have a structure in that area like I ran into. Solution get yourself some 3/16 by 1 inch “split” rivets. That will give you the strength to secure it properly without worrying about it coming unsecured during strong winds. ... show more

This topper was a perfect fit on my 2024 Salem camper. The Solera company wanted $2000 for it plus $300 delivery fee. Only paid $521 on Amazon. Looks awesome. Highly recommend this product.

Replaces original shade. Same manufacturer, but hardware is different, so had to replace all brackets. Did the install by myself, easier for two. Directions were clear and detailed. Very happy with the outcome. Knocked down one star on durability because the original shouldn’t have needed replacing, it was only 5 years old. ... show more
