The battery pack is light weight. It does appear charging in Sun light with green light and blue lights on. Solar panel charging is slow as expected with Photovoltaic cells. It helps on camping trips and emergency situations. The flashlight is not bright, may be less than 100-150 lumens at most like a cell phone.     • Super handy for outdoor adventures

I didn’t even know this thing was a thing until I came across it randomly on AMZ. In a Prime-nesia moment I ordered and it did not disappoint. It’s super easy to use (I never read the directions). So far it’s been very durable. I’ve honestly just tossed it into the camping bin and pulled it out when I needed it. I’ve been charging it on the dashboard on the drive into adventure spots. Worked great on a 4 day camping trip where we boated into a beach and camped. Most of us used our phones for cameras/videos and downloaded music so we were able to keep the phones and speakers charged without an issue. I’ve since updated my tent lights and headlights to USB chargeable devices so I don’t have to worry about batteries. It’s been great. I definitely recommend. I will point out that it’s not super fast. It’s not like plugging into a wall outlet and you’ll see your bars jump right away…but when I’ve used it I haven’t been in a hurry because I’m outdoors enjoying all the non tech life. When you buy a charging bank for periods away from a charger at home you expect it to hold its charge. This unit has a solar panel to allow charging on the go which is why I purchased it. Two days after it was fully charged I left the house with the expectation of using it when my phone’s charge became low. Not only did it lose it’s charge but I had to continually press the power bank’s ON button, and then it only charged for about five seconds. Dreadfully disappointed and frustrated because I was suckered in to buying this product believing it would work for me. In all fairness it was charged two days prior to using it and the morning I left home it sat near the window getting plenty of light. The charge indicator showed a full charge. All I can say is its a good thing we came back early. I would not destroy the packing as you may need to send it back. I won’t because it isn’t worth my time or gas to drive into town to ship it back. ... show more

I like the convenience of this charger where I can use the sun as a backup power source. The only issue I've found is that I have to re-charge the device in order to use it if I haven't used it in a while.
