We recently replaced our living room furniture with a sectional that has wireless charging pads built into the consoles, and that made me investigate moving the various phones in the house to wireless charging; when you're into wireless charging, in most cases you're all in on wireless charging. At least if you're retro-fitting because wireless charging receivers consume the usb port of the phone and so cable charging requires you to take off the case and remove the usb connector from the port. These pucks solve the problem nicely. I can easily place them where I already have cables permanently placed around the house. They are truly plug and play. I've been using them with a Moto G7 (using Nillkin or Tasumoto wireless charging receivers) and now a Samsung Galaxy S22 with built-in wireless charging. They work well with both, with no overheating or placement problems. I have had to adjust my travel kit to accommodate the puck, but it's thin enough it fits into my cable and accessory pack easily enough. No regrets. I have an iPhone 8 (that I bought about five minutes before the iPhone SE second gen was released, and I still kick myself for that). I prefer the smaller form factor. Pant pockets are not getting any larger so why are phones doing that? I had been successfully keeping it charged with lightning cables until that started to stop being dependable. A good cleaning of the charging port would likely have solved my problem but I could never find time to run to the mall and visit one of the seven phone repair stations there. So I did about four seconds of research and discovered that the iPhone 8 supported magnetic charging and I bought a magnetic charger. My life was saved, the universe was perfect, and everyone lived happily ever after. ...until the phone stopped charging. I assumed that the charger had broken. (That was stupid of me and we will get to that...) So I went shopping for a new charger. What I did want in a new one was the ability to run off of a portable power supply; the first one I bought came hard-wired to a wall wart. I found and purchased this model. I was excited to get it home and start charging my phone again. I plugged it into an available USB port and set my phone on it... Bupkis. Nada. No joy. Epic fail. This product did not work. But here is where that stupidity that I mentioned earlier comes in. I did about four more seconds of research and discovered that a hard reset of my phone could solve the problem. I did that. It worked. I then realized that this charger works exactly as advertised. I keep this one in my travel bag with a fully charged portable battery to handle any emergent charging needs. (I am using my original unit as my primary at-home charger.) The peace of mind that comes with having this portable charger is priceless. ... show more

Recently purchased this product, he most frustrating issues is its inconsistent charging performance. There have been multiple instances where my phone simply wouldn’t charge, despite being properly aligned on the pad. This inconsistency undermines the convenience that wireless charging is supposed to offer. They provided the charging cable but not the converter. So, I had to purchase the fast charging converter. with cable even when it does work, the charging speed is far from impressive. Compared to wired charging options, this pad feels painfully slow. It often takes much longer to charge my phone than I would expect, which defeats the purpose of having a "fast" wireless charger. Nice cheap charger. It's not super efficient; you must properly position your phone to charge. It takes the same amount of time as if you use a plug-in charge and kinda defeats the purpose. Overall, it's an ok product for $8.
