Although the metal feels a bit flimsy when unpacked it is very sturdy when completely assembled and filled with soil. The assembly was not difficult, but there are lots of screws. Put it together, relocated it, leveled the area and moved it myself - entire project took maybe 3 hrs (including filling and leveling). I didn't bother taking off the protective covering cause it's just going to flake off over time anyway. Looks nice, and everything lined up perfectly. It *did* arrive with an indentation on one of the panels but wasn't bad enough to screw with putting together, or the lineup. The box itself wasn't damaged or bent so it probably came that way from the factory. If you don't read the manual, buiild the sides first, add the support beams, then build the ends with the connection joints and slide it into place. It goes fairly fast. Super light to move I will report back next year and let you know if there's any rust. ... show more

So, this is bed number 3 I ordered. First thing I don't understand is how they say use gloves and actually provide you a pair when the screws, washers and bolts are so small that is almost an impossibility. So that made putting it together a little difficult to put together. I thought the directions were very simple to understand yet the timeframes they give you on putting these together is ridiculous. This one is much sturdier yet some pieces were bent and/or damaged yet box was not damaged. I would like to see bigger hardware to simplify and speed up the assembly. I do like the fact that is has a lip around the top and bottom, especially the top and the cross braces seem to be a lot sturdier. They should include a couple more of them. Bed 1 and this one are in the running yet still looking at others hoping to find one that is sturdy, simple to assemble. I always put cardboard down in these beds first and some flakes of old crappy hay. Then added top soil/compost/manure. This one took14 1 cu. ft bags yet will need more once it settles down. Wanted to include some peat moss yet everyone seems to be out of stock on that one. I would recommend purchasing this bed because of its sturdiness. HAPPY PLANTING EVERYONE. ... show more

I needed a few discreet raised beds I could put along my back patio for my plants that my HOA wouldn't have an issue with (I have no fence) and these are perfect. Small and low to the ground, and fit perfectly on either side of my door. My one worry always with metal raised beds is I'm in Florida and everything rusts and warps. So far, even after 3 straight weeks of rain, these are holding up nicely. The bed is easy to put together by yourself, I have a back injury and this assembly was within my range of motion and pain level, and you don't have to reach for your electric screwdriver to put the bolts in place. Easy assembly. Great instructions included. No missing pieces. Others mentioned alignment & it is only off if you don’t follow the manual. Making sure you know what is the top/bottom pieces. Nice looking once put together huge. Coordinates well with other product from same company & others. I have 3 sizes from this maker & very satisfied with them. This size took 16 bags of soil (60/40) mix premium soil and Potting Soil. The 3 rounds took three bags each. The oval 3ft took 4 bags I got them last year and used raised bed soil. All of them purchased at different times. Set up is directly on grass with weed fabric between. I added cardboard/newspaper to the bottom & filled with bagged soil that I layered in and mixed. Garden center told me NOT to use straight garden soil in any bed or garden period a mix is best. Brown mulch spread in between for walking and zero border ( makes for easy mowing. The bed came in large slim box included manual, gloves, wing nuts /bolts and screw driver. I didn’t need anything else for setup. I would recommend this product. Although it seems a little flimsy at first, it’s pretty sturdy once you get it filled with soil. It looks nice with the wood look too. I bought 4 of these 6x3’ beds and it is definitely much easier with 2 people assembling it! One note I’d like to add is that the instructions picture appear to show one side overlapping the other one (I don’t remember off hand which one it was), but the correct way was actually opposite from what it appeared to be in the picture. Either way will still work, but if you do it correctly they are pretty flush. If not, there’s a little gap at the top, so if it seems a little “off” try switching the other panel to go in front instead. ... show more

We ordered one of these large containers to allow easier access to our vegetables. It was easy to put together and the center crossbar gives the container added strength.
