Description

Rebound 25 is an easy-to-use platinum-cure silicone rubber which self-thickens for making brush-on molds of almost any model. Mixed 1A:1B by volume (no scale necessary), Rebound rubber can be applied with a brush or spatula to vertical surfaces without sagging and will cure with negligible shrinkage to a flexible rubber.

This is a great product and I got a great brush on mold of a creature head I sculpted. Really easy to use (I'm a beginner). I did NOT use a thickening agent and that was the only difficult part of the process. It took a long long time for each coat to stop running. It seems like a toothpaste consistency but it wants to run and drip and it was difficult to keep it thick at the top of the mold. So definitely use a thickener unless you're doing a pour. I did a 2 part plaster shell over it, then cleaned and dusted the inside of the silicone mold with baby powder for my cast. I used Smooth-On 65D resin for the"slushcast". ... show more

This worked great, but I was able to get a lot more silicone for cheaper. Probably worse quality but I was just using it for a brick mold so the cheaper stuff worked fine. This stuff seems good but I'm afraid to use it because I don't want to waste the good stuff haha.

I need about 50 foam skulls. I realized buying them is far less economical than to make them. So I used one rebound 25 kit to make a silicon mold of a simple skull. I probably could have gotten away with using 3/4 of the kit rather than the whole thing but it was my first time making a mould. I honestly questioned if one kit would be enough and was pleasantly surprised. I found the product mixed and spread easily. I used a thickener for all coats after the first one. I then made a 2 piece plaster jacket for it with some left over modeling plaster. Used some 2 part foam and was very pleased with the results! Update- decided not to stop with one skull. Used a total of 3-1/2 kits to make 2 whole skull molds, one jawless mold, one flat back skull and one jaw mold. I used a gallon kit of Polymer planet 2lb urethane expanding foam and on my first run got 29 skulls. There is a learning curve to both the mold making process and the 2 part foam. I feel like now I could do it all again with just 3 kits and get 35-40 skulls with a gallon kit. I’m making a massive catacomb like faux bone pile so I don’t need them super dense. This worked well and puts me at about $2 per skull when it’s all said and done. ... show more

Made a mold for some figurines. So easy to use. Make sure to have thickening drops, cheap throw away brushes, solid stirrers, paper or plastic cups, gloves and covering for your tabletop. Does need outer support for the mold - see videos. REALLY easy 50/50 mix. no fumes really. It is messy but that's expected. It seemed a daunting process but it was more time consuming. Needs an hour between coats at least. pulled right off my original. I couldn't find my spray release so i used a bit of vaseline (found the release as I was cleaning up of course) The mold after 3 coats came off easy. It was a bit thin so I put it back on the original and globbed on thicker layers. Haven't used it yet to pour... will update ... show more
