I was very much on the fence about buying one of these machines. I had a little experience with single needle machines but had never used a multi needle. I am so very glad that I took the plunge with Smartstitch. I was dubious as their price point was lower than the brands have been used to but wanted to try on a lower budget. I was also restricted with the amount of space I have to play with! This was perfect! I was blown away. The machine is easy to use and the support they offer is extraordinary. They are always on the end of a message to walk me through any queries I have and even check in periodically to see if they can help. I will never go back to the brands I was more comfortable with previously! I find the s1201 is compact whilst still offering great hoop sizes. Delivered on time, exactly as scheduled. Wooden box was a little damaged but machine was not hurt. Husband and I out the table together. It is heavy! Lifted machine and everything fit perfect. Setup according to the easy to read directions. Scheduled training and had a wonderful conversation with another couple who gave lots of tips and suggestions. Ran the tension test, sent photo to Ayla (my advisor), she made suggestions on tension changes and we were up and running. Love the machine, the easy to use screen, and the very supportive customer service (that checks in on you). This machine was a wonderful investment for our company. As with any machine, keep in mind that there is a learning curve and you have to give yourself patience. Take the time to read the book and watch videos online. Keep up the maintenance and have fun. This machine is a work.horse. I upgraded from a Brother PE800 and this machine blows it out of the water. A sweatshirt that would take me upwards of two hours on my single needle machine takes me maybe 30 minutes on this machine. User friendly. Customer support is surprisingly very very good. They check in on you and often ask if there’s anything they can help with. I’ve never had any customer support reach out to me on their own time ... show more

I bought this machine on a whim I have never done any type of sewing and I was apprehensive about the whole situation BUT the customer service is so so good they set you up for success! After you set up your machine (super easy) Smartstitch gives you your own service tech and they help you with getting the machine going. They have tons of step by step videos on everything you need to know. It's so user friendly and so easy to use. They send you so much stuff to get you started as well.
