As soon as the patient takes their weight off the bed sensor pad, the Pager alert monitor will notify the caregiver with a sound (UP TO 300 FEET AWAY!).
  • ELIMINATE NOISE FROM PATIENT ROOM - The wireless alarm monitor can be placed in a convenient location for effective wireless monitoring with a range up to 300 feet. Monitor can be mounted away from the bed, removing in-room alarm noise and ensuring no entanglements or tripping. Seamless adjustable volume technology and gentle chime alerts offer QUIETER fall prevention, alerting the caregiver while never startling the elderly patient.
  • MONITOR MULTIPLE DEVICES SIMULTANEOUSLY - Caregivers can monitor up to SIX Smart Caregiver devices simultaneously from one Smart caregiver pager. • A lifesaver! Needs three C batteries!
I bought this in a rush knowing that my dad was about to be discharged from the hospital. I purchased it thanks to reviews that explained the option for a low-volume alarm that could be kept with the caregiver vs. the typical ear-piercing alarm that goes off at the bedside. It got here the night before his discharge and I couldn't use it the first night because I didn't have batteries (a nerve-wracking, mostly sleepless night). Night two, batteries installed and alarm in place, it was wonderful! I could sleep in my own space, keep the alarm next to me in bed, and jump and run into my dad's room when it went off. The chime is loud enough on low, but it's not jarring and I don't have to worry about waking the neighbors in adjoining units. I'm sure it's already saved us from calling paramedics to get him off the floor (or worse), and it's saved me from having to move an air mattress into his room like I did after a broken hip a few years ago. ... show more

  • Best purchase ever
I'm so glad we bought this for my mother. I've had it for a year and still working perfectly. I highly recommend this for peace of mind. I sleep better knowing that I will be able to wake up in time to help her to the bathroom!

  • A Lifesaver!
This pad is super easy to use, and really is a lifesaver. My husband has Parkinson's with dementia, and needs help during the night to get to the bathroom. Before we got this device, I was getting very little sleep, having to keep one ear open all the time for him moving around, since he sleeps in another room. Now I can sleep. knowing the alarm (which sounds like a doorbell!) will sound from the monitor beside me the minute he sits up and releases pressure on the pad. One review said that the person's relative was too fast for the alarm and was gone before she could be reached. My husband has no problem with being too fast(!) and I have plenty of time to get to him. When I started having help at night, the caregiver was also grateful for the alarm, since it meant she didn't have to be in the room with him. HIGHLY recommend! ... show more

  • apparently working ok
Takes trial and error to work correctly. Must be placed on bed in correct location to work correctly. A littleexpensive but you get what you pay for. Not real pleased with transmitter pad that only good for one yearand then needs to be replaced because of long term battery. It has a off/on switch on the receiver which isgood, don't have to listen to alarm when person is not in the bed. Have not had it long enough to know howlong c-batteries last in receiver but ordered an adapter to prevent purchasing batteries. Alarm is a pleasent chirp which can be ajusted. ... show more

  • Great product for fall prevention
Work just like it should by setting off an alarm when a person goes to get out of bed. Best part is the alarm box can be in another room. thus covertly notifying the caregiver

  • Benefits of wireless
I have been a nurse for 11 years and in healthcare for 17 years. Recently we brought home my young housemate who is suffering from the final stages of a glioblastoma. I worked night shift for 12 years, and even though the wireless was more expensive, I think for home use its better. The regular bed alarms are very loud, and can be obnoxious or disturbing to the patient. Also, people in surrounding rooms tend to get awoken by the alarm which is disruptive. The wireless alarm allows me to take the reciever in another room and keep it with me, sparing others from the racket. Since glio patients already have confusion and headaches, I think this is a big plus. Also, there are 3 volume settings. It's very simple to use. The only thing I would change is the alarm noise which is a doorbell. Its not annoying, but I think it might confuse dementia or Alzheimer's patients. I said the noise was my cell phone game. ... show more

  • Dead irreplaceable battery
I've had two of these for awhile and replaced the C batteries in the alarm occasionally. Then one day no sound from my father getting up. Guess what - the sender that is attached to the bed pad was dead. OK - no problem I will find that replacement part and all will be good. WRONG! When you call these people up they tell you that once that sensor battery goes dead - your only recourse is to buy the whole unit again. Are you kidding me? I'm on a fixed income taking care of both my parents and I'm just supposed to throw this whole contraption out and buy a new. Isn't this the definition of planned obsolesce. Sham on you Smart Care people for such a contrivance. ... show more
