I liked that it worked - not always a given these days. The sensor simply wraps around a spark plug wire. They give you these super small tie wraps, but I just used a twist tie as I am testing multiple engines.

I have it set up as the instructions show. Reads way lower than possible. Junk. Cheap quality, difficult to figure out how to work it, and just does not work.

    • Works as advertised but be mindful of cylinder setting
Works great but the instructions aren’t super clear about how to set the timing setting on the device with respect to your engine configuration. If you are wiring this to the IGNITION COIL WIRE then you can follow the instructions. For instance, a V8 engine will spark eight times per single revolution of the crank at the coil (set to 8p1r on the device). For a four cylinder engine that would be 4p1r because that’s 4 sparks per crank rotation. If you are wiring to a SINGLE SPARK PLUG WIRE then that’s firing once per single revolution (1p1r) for any number of cylinders on a standard 4 stroke engine (standard car engine). Once hooked up it works great as an engine bay tach for tuning my classic car. ... show more
