I was a bit nervous after I opened the box and unwrapped the topper...it was in a super tight roll and spreading it out on the bed, I could see and feel some long, hard ridges. Information that came with the topper said it would smooth out. I unzipped the cover (which is very nice quality) to let the foam breathe. There was a very slight odor which went away within a half hour or so. After a few hours, the whole topper was flat and smooth. I placed a fitted sheet over the topper and made up the rest of the bed. I bought this product because over this last year, I developed osteoarthritis in my hips and my very expensive, very firm mattress was causing discomfort since I am a side sleeper. I didn't want to spend big bucks for a new mattress (the current one is just like new, just too firm) so I was hoping a softer mattress topper would fix the problem. I am thrilled to say YES! YES! YES! I slept so well last night and woke up without stiffness. What a difference!! I am very happy with this product. Very happy with this purchase! I will say, some of the reviews that say it is a little bit bigger than the actual queen size bed are correct. It does hang off the sides of my bed just a tiny bit. Sheets are VERY HARD to get on because of this… But it’s incredibly comfortable and I’ve had no issue with it moving/slipping around or anything like that. I loved this mattress topper. The foam was cut perfectly, the cover was made perfectly. I even bought a Full for my Queen bed and it left little room around the edges. I didn't need the topper to go from edge to edge. My only complaint, and the reason for one star was the smell. I really couldn't let it air out b/c I had no where to put it. I figured if I washed the cover and put sheets over it how bad could it be. I woke up with a migraine the next day. The smell didn't absorb all the oxygen in the room, but it was bad for my sensitivity level. I can't even tolerate Febreeze. I can't tell you how long it would take to air out. Unfortunately, I returned it. I could not get it in the box that it came in. I had to fold it and roll it, and good thing I had another big box to put over top and a roll of packing tape. The UPS driver didn't take the box after requesting a pick-up, so I had to drag the 30lb box to the UPS store. Oh well, I haven't purchased another since. ... show more

This mattress topper really has 2" of support foam and 2" of memory foam. Both are of good quality. After a day or so the smell dissipated and the foam laid flat with no ridges or lumps. This is really comfortable. The reason it's not getting a 5 star review is twofold. First, it's sliding off my bed on the side where I sleep. Second, in spite of being labeled as a queen topper, it's a touch too big for my bed which seems odd. I've also noticed a dirt-like smell emanating from it which does not seem to be going away. I dislike the fact it does not stay on my mattress. I have a queen bed and ordered queen topper and ir is one inch larger around each side. Therefore it does not stay in place. Does not work well with pillow top mattresses. Paid $150 and cannot return or get a refund. Sad I'm stuck with an inferior product. ... show more
