  • Great as a dry shaver!
Size: Standard
I use my Pitbull Gold Pro as a 'dry' shaver. It works great... fast and easy to use. And it gives me a smooth, clean noggin. :-)

  • Should have gotten it years ago
Size: Standard
I used to shave my head with Panasonic foil shaver. I think it was intended for beards, but it worked all the same for my head. Only issue was that if my hair was anything passed two days of growth, it would take forever to cut. Plus, it didn’t work well when my head was wet. So I finally figured after that was on its last leg to get the Pitbull shaver, as recommended by another bald colleague. To start, it is easier to hold and molds to my head better than my previous shaver. It also doesn’t leave a mess, pretty much capturing all hair that it shaves off. It works well both wet and dry, but I prefer to use it wet as it seems to glide over my head more smoothly. Only took about five minutes to shave my entire head, when before it would take me 20-30 minutes depending on how many days it had been since I shaved. Safe to say that I wish I had purchased this years ago since it saves me a significant amount of time and I don’t dread having to shave my head now since it is no longer a tedious task. ... show more

  • Works Well
Size: Standard
I decided to pay more and get a good shaver. Ive only dry shaved so far but it shaves pretty close. Battery is excellent. Probly wont recharge except once a month on average. Fairly quiet and its got a digital display for battery. Satisfied with it so far after a few weeks.

  • Not great, but probably the best option you have
Size: Standard
I've been using this line of shavers for about 2 years now. The battery just died on the first one, and I just ordered a replacement so I figured I'd leave a review. First of all - battery issues? Yes. The first two weeks I used my shaver, I thought all the reviews about the poor battery life were either unlucky or outside the norm. Then one day about two weeks in, I started shaving with the battery at 50% and it abruptly died mid-shave. After that I noticed the battery would decrease normally (about 3-5% for each five minute shave), but once it hit around 50 or 60%, the battery would drop 1% every second until it hit zero. I thought this was fine - I have to charge the shaver every week, so what? The problem is, this "battery drop off" point kept creeping higher and higher over the past year and a half until recently, when the battery died as I started shaving at 92%. I had been recharging the shaver after every two shaves already, so I figured this was time to get a new shaver. If the new one follows the same pattern, I'll be reasonably satisfied if the battery gets me through two years. After reading about battery charging and battery life, the plan is to use the shaver until 60%ish battery, then charge up to 90%ish each time - might help, might not. So why buy the same shaver if the first one had such an unreliable battery? I haven't used any other electric head shavers out there, but I had been shaving my head with a safety razor for a few years before I tried the Pitbull. I can't say anything about the other shavers, but my skin is pretty sensitive, so I am hesitant to try new shavers - and the Pitbull is pretty good in this regard. The four bladed (I think it's called the Forte) attachment that comes with the shaver doesn't irritate my skin, and is fairly reliable (I only broke the first one by dropping it multiple times - my bad). I'd say that shaving against the grain with the shaver gets my hair very close to what a safety razor would get (also going against the grain). Obviously it's not quite AS short, but the difference is maybe 6 hours or so of hair growth for me. It's definitely closer than shaving with the grain with a safety razor, and shaving against the grain with a razor can cause irritation for me anyways. So the quality of the shave is fairly good, I only have to shave every 2 days to maintain a clean look. But the best advantage of the Pitbull is TIME. It only takes 5-7min to shave your head, rather than the 20min it would take me with a safety razor. I'd recommend using conditioner on your head when using this shaver, using shave soap and a brush will actually get the blades of the Pitbull coated with soap that doesn't easily come off, and the bristles of the brush will occasionally come off and get sucked into the shaver - which messes with the blades and is annoying to clean. Conditioner is easy to wash off, all you have to do is rinse with hot water, and the shave is smooooooth. TLDR: Buy to save time. Shaves pretty close to safety razor, if not 'baby bottom smooth'. Do a favor and use conditioner instead of all the other shaving products. Yeah, battery kind of sucks. ... show more

  • Passes (accidental) drop test just fine.
Size: Standard
After having this for just under two years, after warranty, I dropped it and it snapped in half on the floor - falling from a height of about six feet. I thought I broke it, but after inspection, all that had broken was the connecting collar on the blade. Removed that part with pliers, popped a new blade in, and it works fine. The build quality is so much better than the other options out there, it's astonishing. I bought a platinum version for daily use so the gold is now a travel unit. ... show more

  • Don’t wait as long as I did
Size: Standard
Can’t speak to the longevity because I just got it but it works amazing!!! Very easy, very close and cuts shaving time in half. Wish it and some sort of pop up function to cut a clean line between my scalp and beard but still gets 5 stars.

  • It lasted exactly one year
Size: Standard
While it worked, it worked fine. I had no real issue with it until about four weeks ago. Then, it wouldn’t turn on about 50% of the time. I’d have to keep pushing the button and eventually it would start, until last night. Last night, it wouldn’t turn OFF. This button was pushed, no LED was illuminated but it simply wouldn’t turn off. I looked online only to find out this is a known issue. Whether it’s a battery hold down, or broken solder points, it’s going to happen. The battery ran out and I thought that maybe I could recharge and see what might happen. Started out great. 100% charge. Turned it on and it ran… for a few seconds then shut off again. Additionally, the motor spun at a much lower rpm. This unit is done. At $120ish per unit, mine cost about $10/month to own for the entirely of its lifetime. I’m not sure I can justify spending that much again. Like I said, while it worked, it worked fine. It just didn’t last very long. ... show more
